Chapter 3: Autumn, the Red Snake of the North Fire Desert

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Wake up." spoke a voice.

"I don't want to..." mumbled Blaise.

"Oh look, a coyote." said the voice.

Blaise's eyes opened immediately, revealing his ruby red eyes glistening. Blaise immediately sat up from his position and now standing on his two feet.

"Where? Where?!" Blaise asked.

His ruby red eyes sparkled, even more, when he saw where he was at. They seemed to be in a desert with the sun scorching hot. Cactuses, bushes, and dead trees stood on the ground, living with the heat normally. There was barely wind and no clouds in the blank blue sky.

"Nowhere." sighed the voice.

Blaise turned around to see Zephania. His eyes widened when he remembered what had happened.

------------

Zephania released Blaise and took a step back from facing the wall in front of him. Zephania rose his right hand up to the wall in front of him.

"Teleportation Technique: Overworld of Fantasía."

A blue and purple colored circle with mysterious designs appeared in front of Zephania's right hand. The mysterious circle attached itself onto the wall, opening what seemed like a portal; the portal led to what looked like outer space.

"What... is that?" Blaise asked in amazement.

Blaise had never seen such a mysterious magical thing.

"This is where our journey is," Zephania replied.

Facing Blaise and grabbing his arm, he said, "Let's go."

"W-wai- ahhhh!!" Blaise yelled.

Entering the portal, Blaise closed his eyes tightly. The last thing he saw was Zephania in front of him and being surrounded by space. Suddenly losing his conscious, he closed his eyes, letting Zephania take ahold of him.

------------

"G-Gramps, where did you take me!?" Blaise asked.

Zephania simply replied, "Home."

Blaise deadpanned, used and annoyed by the fact that he always received the same answer "home". Sighing, Blaise pulled up his backpack.

His backpack. His backpack... It was gone!?
"Ah! Where's my backpack!?" Blaise exclaimed.

"Oh, it's somewhere in my inventory space," Zephania said.

"Inventory space? C'mon Gramps, there's no such thing as "inventory" in reality like this. This isn't a game." Blaise said.

"You're right about this not being a game, but the inventory space is true," Zephania said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Blaise asked.

"I'll tell you that another time," standing up, Zephania continued, "For now, let's search for a sand cave to rest."

"But it's daytime," Blaise said.

"It is, but time in the mid-way of Fantasía is much different from Earth," Zephania replied.

Blaise tilted his head in confusion of Zephania's words and titles. "Huh?"
