Chapter 7: Obtaining the Sword of Fire
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's what the voice in his head had told him to choose. Rather than feeling doubt and worry, Blaise felt confident and fearless. He had played many games that involved violence and though he may have never used a sword with experience, now was the time.
"I'm ready," Blaise said.
The Fire Guardian nodded in approval. "Good. Now, let me judge you shall we?"
Blaise held onto the metal sword tightly. Despite his fear of death right in front of him, he was determined to fight his way out of it. If there's no other better solution to this, then he has no other choice but to fight.
Nix suddenly let out a cry, letting the Fire Guardian and Blaise they may begin the battle. Autumn glared at the phoenix for suddenly letting out a cry.
Blaise ran up to the Fire Guardian, waiting for the right moment to raise his sword up. The Fire Guardian simply stood there, watching Blaise run up to him. Standing there, he observed Blaise. Blaise was certainly fast and seem slightly faster than an average human.
Just as Blaise was close up to the Fire Guardian, the Fire Guardian swung up his sword. Blaise immediately dodged, losing his calm composure, and the sword had cut a little strand of his messy black hair.
"You're very fast, Blaise. I'll tell you that, but your little tactic is very easy to identify. Running up straight to me? I expected better from you." the Fire Guardian said.
Blaise scowled as he ran up to the Fire Guardian once more. The Fire Guardian stood there again and observed Blaise. It seemed like Blaise ignored his little advice and has decided to run straight up to him once more.
When Blaise was at least a foot away from the Fire Guardian, the Fire Guardian swung his sword. Blaise immediately dodged, seeming much calmer than the first time he dodged, and ducked down. Then, he took a sharp right turn and stuck his sword into the Fire Guardian.
The Fire Guardian smiled in delight and removed the sword out of his abdomen with ease. With the sword in his rocky hand, he threw the sword harshly with Blaise along. Blaise collapsed onto the ground and stood up, shaking a little.
"It's getting pretty boring. I'm quite amused you did a little trick on me but I won't let it pass this time." the Fire Guardian said.
"Fire Technique: Fireball."
A red circle appeared as fireballs came out of it and flew towards Blaise. Blaise, unable to think at the moment, ran towards the Fire Guardian once more. As he ran towards the Fire Guardian, he blocked the fireballs which deflected the fireballs towards the Fire Guardian.
"I have to think of something, and it has to be quick! I can't keep running or else I'll be out of stamina!" Blaise thought, clenching his jaw.
The Fire Guardian decided to have a little fun and began moving around in the room. Blaise stopped running as he tried focusing on the Fire Guardian. The Fire Guardian circled around him by running which left trails of fire. As soon as he stopped running, Blaise realized he was surrounded by fire.
"What will you do now, Blaise? Will you run through the fire or will you find a different way to leave the circle of fire?" the Fire Guardian asked.
"If I run through the fire, I'll get burned. And I can't think of any other ways!" Blaise thought.
As soon as he finished that thought, he had an idea.
"Water Technique: Waterfall!"
Blue circles appeared above the circle of fire. Droplets of water began pouring out but it wasn't enough to bring down the fire.
