Sun rays shone in from Beth's drawn curtains, the warmth kissing a sleeping Beth's cheeks. Billy lit a cigarette and sat up, leaning back on her headboard. He tossed his lighter over on top of the pile of his clothes, his jeans and jacket, that laid comfortably on Beth's carpet.

Inhaling the smoke, he watched Beth's chest rise and fall slowly, her lips parted as gentle breaths left them. Her bandage on her forehead was now turning red from the blood that was escaping, a very small droplet making its way out of the wall of cloth.

Billy took one last puff of his cigarette before putting it out on the, nearly full, ashtray on Beth's bedside table. Lightly brushing away the blood droplet, he managed to wake Beth up in his process.

He smiled, watching her eyes open slowly. "Good morning," he grinned, watching her sit up and tug his shirt down to go over her bare legs more.

"Good morning." Beth sighed, reaching her fingers up and brushing her fingers over her bandage, the wet crimson liquid drooling all over her fingertips.

As she pulled her fingers back to see how bad it was, she started to remember the crash. How she was just driving and then, a deer appeared. She tried so hard to slow down, but she couldn't in time. The deer's poor body slammed into Beth's front bumper and she tried to turn away, but her wheels spun out.

All she could see was the world crashing down, she really though t she was going to flip the car and die.

The trees and ground spun with her screams.

SPIN. SPIN. SPIN. SPIN.

Her screams ripped through her vocal chords, the pain all coming back to her.

And then, the tree came into view and Beth let out one last cry as she slammed both feet onto her brake pedal. The tree stopped her car from spinning, the front of the car denting around the wooden trunk.

Beth's world went black, blood dripping gently from her head steadily.

DRIP. DRIP. DRIP. DRIP.

"Beth! Beth, it's me! Hey!" Billy screamed as he shook Beth's shoulders, her eyes wide and frozen as hot tears dripped from them. He shook her shoulders as hard as he could, trying to get her to snap out of it.

Her hands were stuck in front of her in the same position she had them in when she was reaching her hands back down from her head.
