"Come and get sheet faced. Cute." Beth laughed, walking slowly to third period with Billy, his arm slung comfortably around her shoulders. She felt safe, protected, inside his arms. Something she hadn't felt for longer than she could remember.

"You wanna go? I mean, we can go after we pick up your car from the shop." Billy asked, gently twirling his fingers on Beth's shoulder.

Beth nodded, turning down the hall and into her and Billy's chemistry class. "Yeah, sure. My car will be done after school, right?"

Lately, she'd been stressing to Billy how much fixing her car meant to her, and he completely understood, making sure his friends at the car shop could fix it as soon as possible. "Of course." He smiled, motioning for her to walk into Mr. Theo's classroom first.

Beth adjusted Billy's leather jacket that hung loosely on her body as she sat down. Sighing lightly, she pulled her textbook out and a pencil, preparing for the inevitable lecture Theo was about to give on the importantance of being prepared for class.

Sun rays that were being let in from the large windows on the right side of the classroom beamed onto Beth's golden skin, giving her a nice warmth.

Her chemistry teacher's voice rang with a bored tone as he explained the lesson, allowing Beth to slip off into the land of day dreams.

"Thank you so much again." Beth finally got her car back, the men at the shop smiling as she stroked it's hood gently. The smooth metal chilled the tips of her fingers, it being so clean her beaming reflection grinned back at her.

Billy nodded, shaking his friends' hands gratefully and tossing Beth her keys. "Thanks boys."

They all nodded and wiped their dirty hands on even dirtier rags, their work clothes stained with oil from leaking cars and streaks of dirt. "No problem. Fixing up a beaut like this was a pleasure." Beth laughed and started up her engine, hearing the faint purr her car sent her joyously. "Ah, finally!" She yipped.

Billy walked over to her window and leaned on the opening. "I'll meet you at Tina's party tonight, yeah?" He'd been planning to take Beth to the party himself but since his boys got her car fixed early, she was able to drive herself, to Billy's grand dismay. He loved driving with her, watching her hang her head and arms out of the window and wave to all the passing cars with a grin that could light a whole city.

"Yes you will, handsome." Beth smirked, slamming her foot down on the gas pedal and ripping her way through the dirt roads that led her back home. Before she was all the way away from the car shop, she stuck her hand out of her window and waved to Billy, honking twice.
