Billy had passed being worried and was taken over by anger. Max, Beth, and Dustin were nowhere to be seen, but Billy had a strong feeling that he would miraculously spot all three of them at his next, and final, stop.

The Byers house.

Speeding off from the Wheeler's, he turned his music down to think. She wouldn't be avoiding him, would she? What was there to avoid him for? There was no fight or argument, there was no way that she could be angry or upset with him, so why wouldn't she return his calls? Why were her and her brother completely missing?

And, coincidentally, his step sister was, too, missing.

He ultimately began to connect the dots as he drove, the anger boiling in the pit of his stomach.

All he knew was that if he happened to find Max, Beth and Dustin at the Byers', he would be extremely pissed.

"It's not like it was before. It's grown." Hopper sighed as they all, once again, circled the table. "A lot. And, I mean, that's considering we can get in there. The place is crawling with those dogs."

"Demo dogs." Dustin interrupted.

"I'm sorry, what?" Hopper asked.

"I said-uh- demo dogs. Like Demogorgon and dogs. You put them together and it sounds pretty badass-" Dustin tried.

"How is this important right now?" Hopper quizzed, his face unamused and exhausted.

"I'm sorry, it's not." Dustin apologized.

"I can do it." Eleven spoke up.

"You're not hearing me." Hop told her.

"I'm hearing you. I can do it." El nodded.

"Even if El can, there's still another problem." Mike interjected. "If the brain dies, the body dies."

"I thought that was the whole point." Max said, her eyebrows scrunched in confusion.

"It is, but if we're really right about this, I mean, if El closes the gate and kills the mind flayer's army-"

"Will is a part of that army." Beth nodded, understanding where he was going with it.

"Closing the gate will kill him." Mike finished.

Their eyes went wide as they walked into Will's room, the open window bringing in cold air that kissed their cheeks.

"He likes it cold." Joyce said.

"What?" Hopper asked.

"It's what Will kept saying to me. He likes it cold." Joyce nodded, going over to the window and shutting it. "We keep giving it what it wants."
