Akira sits at her desk in peace, contemplating about her relationship with Amon. She knew they had to pretend the kiss never happened, than why is she thinking of it so much? This was so unlike her.
'What is wrong with me...that kiss was the last thing Amon needed! Yet...he kissed me back...' Akira just sighs in frustration and continues to work.
It had been six days since she last saw them, and ten days since she kissed Amon. Has he gotten his new arm yet? Has it been boring for both him and Takizawa? Is Takizawa still upset...? Does Amon love her? The answer wasn't clear, but they had to get things done.
Suddenly, Akira hears somebody walk in, she looks up. "Hello, Akira..." It was Amon.
Akira wanted to jump on him, to hold him tight, so he would never go away again. But she kept her cool, for her own sake and his.
"Hello, investigator Amon. Being informal now aren't we?" Amon chuckles. "Yeah, sorry." "Don't apologize." She smiles at him. She tries looking behind him, to see if Takizawa got out too. So that the three of them can be together again.
"Where is...?" Amon gets the hint. "Oh, his new arm hasn't come in yet. Also to mention, he's in therapy for a while." That's just great... Still, she was glad Amon was back, and that Takizawa was getting the help he needed. It was awkward though, being alone with Amon. She did though, get curious about the artificial arm.
"May I see it...?" Amon looks at her, confused. She then points directly at it. "Oh, the new arm...!" She nods. "Sure thing, knock yourself out." He rolls up the right sleeve of his suit. Akira touches it, to her, it was something to remember. It felt so cold, yet it felt so smooth. She touches his face to compare. His skin is so warm, and smooth as well. Amon blushes softly.
"M-Mado..." She continues touching his face and arm for about twenty more seconds, before she stops. Amon couldn't see it, but she felt extremely embarrassed. She changed the subject.
"Alright, let's get to that case...!" Amon nods. "I have been doing a little research, and I have a few ideas on where this could lead us." "That's good! And what are your ideas?" They sit down at their desks. "Well the scenes of the crimes are awfully close to one another, so there must be a connection." Amon leans forward. "And that may be...?" "Well, I'm thinking two possible things. One, they kill near their home. Or two, they pick up hookers at the same area and place." Amon nods.
"What about if it's both?" "Both?" "They live in the area, so it becomes convenient picking up and paying for hookers. Like going to a supermarket for fresh meat." Akira nods. "Good analogy, and I can see why it would be the case..." "Especially when they purposely took them to different locations. Those poor ladies..." Even if they were hookers, Akira agreed that they didn't deserve that. They were just trying so hard to live.
Akira really cared about Amon, but they agreed that they weren't ready, but Akira...wanted to try and feel ready. She thinks of something so stupid, but she wanted things to progress between the two. She grabs his right hand, and dragged him down under the desks.
"What's this about Mado...?" She blushes, she didn't want anyone else to see this. "I was hoping we could discuss the case at dinner... You just got out, we need to make up for old times." He tilts his head.
"No matter hard I try, I can't forget about what we did... It keeps playing inside of my head. I know you can't forget about it ether..." She pauses. "So maybe we should just accept it. I'll never know a time where we can never see each other again. So I want to be with you while I still can." Amon blushes, as Akira keeps a straight face. "I can't believe I'm going to do this again... It's so out of the blue..."
Akira leans forward to kiss him. Amon was about to stop her, but he hesitated. She caught him off guard. But he liked that about her. So he lets it happen the second time. She kisses him. He kisses her back and holds her. Still under the desk mind you. Nether of them wanted to let go, or even stop. It just felt right. Amon strokes her hair gently as they continue to kiss. 'Sorry Mado sir, for falling in love with your daughter...' He thinks to himself.
After what felt like an eternity, they both pull back. Both are flush red with a lot of emotions behind it. Amon finally speaks up. "So...where should we have dinner tonight?" "There's this really nice curry place I've been wanting to go to, but never really had the chance."
They then remember that they're under the desk, so they get out. They continue to work, as if the kiss technically didn't happen. Akira gets up from her desk. "I'm going to go get water, be right back." As she walks out, she turns to Amon. "Better not be thinking of me while I'm gone, naughty boy..." She half flirts. Amon blushes a nice shade of red.
They continue the day of work, until it's time to be off. They leave the building. Akira touches his hand. Amon flinches away. "S-Sorry...I didn't think we weren't at that stage yet..." Akira apologizes. Amon looks around to see if anyone else was watching. It's all good. "No, it's really alright." He grabs her hand. They both hold on. "Now take me to this curry place you wish to try so much..." She nods and they start walking off.
Akira was a little confused. Was this for the best? How did Amon feel about this? Was he forced into this? Maybe she'll ask him when they get there. Akira was so confused on how she felt. But it was worth a try...
