A new start (Shiro!Kaneki x Touka)

"You're still reading that book?!" "I'm rereading it. This book let's me feel...comforted." "Well, your break is over Kaneki!" There was a soft sigh. "Alright...manager." Touka chuckles.

Touka was a manager to her very own cafe, Re: cafe. Ever since Anteiku burned down to the ground, she has been very busy keeping this cafe safe. During the battle of Anteiku, Kaneki was fighting. Touka finally got to him, and convinced him to come with her, telling him her plans for a new cafe. At the time, it was an idea that just came out of nowhere, and yet they managed to actually get it to work. However, some things just changed. Irimi, Koma, and Hinami were nowhere to be found. Hinami must've panicked, fearing that Touka wouldn't return. Irimi and Koma, well...they are most certainly dead. Yomo was still there, and so was Kaneki. Touka honestly believed he would never come back to work at a cafe, ever since...that day.

But now, it was different. This was a new chapter, a new start to their lives. And pretty soon, Touka would add to the story.

"Well, I am going to take my break, so get going!" Touka orders. Kaneki nods, then gets up. "Alright, Touka..." Touka goes into the restroom, making sure no one was around. She goes inside and faces the mirror.

"Hey, Kaneki. This may be sudden, but..." She shakes her head. 'No, no! More emotion Touka! And a little calmer...!' She looks up at the mirror again. "Kaneki...what did you say to Rize to ask her out...? Because..." She stops. 'No Touka! Don't remind him of his ex! Is she technically his ex? Doesn't matter, don't remind him of Rize!'

She sighs heavily. 'Come on...be yourself...' She looks at the mirror once again. "Hey, Kaneki...this may not sound like me, but...wanna go to the park sometime...?" She smiles slightly to herself. 'Perfect enough!' She runs out of the restroom, trying to get to Kaneki.

Kaneki was just sweeping up a mess, made by a certain customer, when he sees Touka glaring at him. Did he do something wrong?

"Uhh, Touka...?" She steps up to him. "Are you upset about something? Is it about what I did? I know it was a while ago, but I see why you would be mad..." Touka looks up at him and smiles widely. "I'm not mad about that...I'm not even mad at all." Kaneki raises an eyebrow.

"You're not? Than, what is it...?" Touka sighs. "I...how-? Umm..." 'What the hell?! Why am I so tongue tied?!' Touka takes a deep breath. "Kaneki...do you think I'm hot?"

Silence.

"...Should I answer...?" He asks Touka. "Yes or no? Do you think I am hot? Be honest, I can't take a lie." Kaneki blinks a few times, but got his composure.

"Touka...why wouldn't you be...? But that's not what I look at..." Touka blushes. "Than...what do you look at?" Kaneki smiles. "You're very scary..." Touka slouches in disappointment, but Kaneki continues.

"But...you are very soft, once I got to know you..." Touka beams with hope, looking up once again at the white haired male. "And the selfish things you do aren't really ever for yourself. Like the time Ryoko was taken away from us... Or the time I got kidnapped, you-" Touka jolts up. "You know about that?!" Kaneki smirks. "Yomo told me...he told me all about it." Touka covers her face in embarrassment.

"Guess I can't be so subtle now, can I...?" Kaneki raises an eyebrow. "Asking me if I think you're hot is subtle to you...?" Touka puts on a pouty face. "Sh-Shut up!" Touka blushes, facing her right. "I...wanted to know...if you would like to the park with me... You know, just the two of us..." Kaneki puts on a weak smile. "I would like that... When can we go...?" Touka blushes. Her chest feels oddly light and warm. She never had a boy, or girl, she like liked. Which made her question how Kaneki became her first.

"Tomorrow, and that's the way it is." There was a pause. "Great! I got nothing else to do!" Touka briefly smiles, then frowns again. 'If I ever get the chance, I swear I'll take your innocence!' She thought to herself. To her, Kaneki was so cute, it hurt to not at least date him. But lately...he has been distant. Hopefully she can help with that.
