I care (Kuro!Kaneki x Touka) -Part 3

Kaneki was waiting patiently in front of the bookstore, this was his first date with Touka. His first ever date with Rize was truly nightmare fuel, maybe this time he can have a redo.

'Maybe I can find a book to recommend to Touka... What would she be into?' Kaneki taps his left foot as he keeps on waiting for Touka, she is eleven minutes late. Kaneki didn't mind though, he was just glad that she agreed to go.

Finally, the female is there. "Touka!" Kaneki acclaimed happily. Touka gives him a quick smile. Kaneki smiles widely at the gesture. Touka kept on looking down, feeling extremely nervous.

Kaneki was starting to feel nervous as well as he witnessed her walking towards him. His heart began to race, his hands began to sweat, and the pupils of his eyes dilated a little just from looking at her.

Touka goes up to him. "So, you cute little dork, what should we do in this bookstore?" Kaneki smiles warmly. "Well...I thought it would be nice to look around for some interesting books. Or something along those lines..." He chuckles nervously.

Touka sighs. "Come on, let's not stay out here for long, let's go inside!" Kaneki nods in response. "O-Ok!" Touka sighs softly, a smile lifting from her lips. Kaneki was acting so cute.

They go inside and explore together. They first go into some of the fiction novels. Touka was looking a little bit more of the thriller and horror kind. She chuckles lightly, whispering to the male. "You know from what I heard, even though ghouls are a part of everyday life, barely any writer has gotten the balls to write about them..." Kaneki puts on a little smile. "What about Hisashi Ogura?" Touka shrugs. "He's one of the few. I'm talking more of fiction writing." Kaneki chuckles. "I guess you do have a point..."

Touka keeps on looking at each individual book. Kaneki grabs a book and shows it to Touka, Touka looks at him in a questioning manner. "This one's a pretty good horror novel, I read it and I couldn't help but be put on edge..." Touka then holds onto the book, she looks at it with a straight face, then looks up at him. "I'm not that into horror, I was just curious if they had any stories about ghouls..." Kaneki turns beet red. "O-Oh, m-my bad!" Touka chuckles. She looks over the book again, smiling this time.

"I'll give it a try..." Kaneki smiles warmly. "R-Really...?" Touka nods. "I should read more horror, it could be some fun." Kaneki suddenly acts excited. "Y-Yeah, it will be! I don't read too much horror ether, but books like this one should help you get started!" Touka laughs softly.

"You big lug head..." Kaneki blushes lightly around his cheeks.

The book title is "It All Falls Apart".

Touka and Kaneki pay for some books and leave the store. They start walking around together. Kaneki keeps looking at Touka happily, especially her hand as they conversed.

"Touka...why are you so scared of birds?" "Why are you asking that now?" "Well...we are talking, so I thought it would be nice to learn about you on a more personal level... Sorry if it's nosey..." Touka pauses, smiling slightly. "...It's a long story." Kaneki nods in agreement. "Yeah, I thought so..."

There was an awkward pause, but Kaneki speaks up. "Hey, Touka...? I'm still a little new to this...when can I hold your hand?" Touka looks over at him. "I mean we already kissed...I'm surprised you had to ask..." Kaneki shakes his head. "Yeah, I know! B-But...I haven't gone to that stage yet...ever." Touka closes her eyes, facing straight ahead. "Not even with Rize...?" Kaneki stays silent. Touka continues.

"Look, this is my first time on a date... Surprising I know, but it just happened that way. Which means you have a little more experience than I do. I honestly don't know what the hell to do..."

Silence is shared, no one spoke a word. It stayed like that until Kaneki grabbed Touka's hand. Touka slowly looking over at him in a bit of shock, Kaneki with his eye shut. He slowly opens it, looking down at her.

"You're not Rize, but I'm glad you're not! You're not with me for the reason she was with me, you're with me because...because..." Touka finishes his sentence for him. "Because I like you for you..." She smiles.

Kaneki nods. "A-And I get to kiss you...hold your hand...hug you...all sorts of things! As I said before, you allow me to have excitement, and you allow me to understand what it means to be a ghoul!" Kaneki pauses. "And...you're so beautiful, and cool, you're so amazing!" Touka smiles, holding his hand tighter. "You're so cute..." Kaneki blushes lightly, so does Touka.

They continue walking, talking about one another, and that's when they come across a certain alleyway. Kaneki freezes up, standing as still as stone. Touka looks at him with caution.

"Kaneki...?" Kaneki takes a deep breath. "...This is the place Rize took me, to kill me. But it's also the place where we properly met, Touka." Touka nods. "That's true, but it was her feeding ground. So of course she took you there." Kaneki shakes his head. "G-Get me out of here..." "Than stop standing still."

Kaneki nods and begins moving his feet again. That alleyway had plenty of bad memories, with pretty decent memories as well.

Touka takes Kaneki home. When they got to his door, they begin to converse.

"I-I had fun!" Kaneki claims. Touka smiles widely. "So did I, I got to learn more about you." There was a pause, then Touka begins to leave. "Well...see ya." "Wait, Touka!" She turns around, looking at him questionably. "I-I...really like you!" Touka chuckled, since she already knew that fact. Kaneki continues. "I would...like to go on another date with you!" Touka warmly smiles.

"I would like that too! Maybe we do that the day after tomorrow?" Kaneki nods. "Yes, that works!" Touka chuckles. "Well, I hope to see you then, Ken." And with that, she leaves.

Kaneki goes inside of his apartment happily. He holds onto his chest as he feels his heart about to burst.

He lays on his couch trying to relax. He starts thinking to himself. 'Touka...oh Touka...' He smiles warmly. 'Thank you, for liking me back.' He takes a breath and starts to relax, closing his eyes as he continues to think of the girl who brought him to reality in this crazy world.

Feeling so much better with her around. Feeling like the only normal thing in his life. Touka is the love of his life, there's no doubt about it, she is the one for him.
