It has been so long, so many things have happened and changed before this point. Takizawa was no longer human, and he was no longer the man she had thought him to be. His skin was so pale, his lips jet black, and his hair was a ghostly white. He looked like a dead person.
She to him was a strawberry in a wheat farm, a golden retriever in a pack of filthy mutts, she was magnificent! Why was he too stubborn before he became like this? He was just a foolish human, that's why. Though he must admit, he wanted to be by her side the entire time.
She was his Akira.
Ever since Akira was saved by both Takizawa and Amon, she decided to stay by Takizawa's side. Even after Takizawa brought Amon back, she chose Takizawa over Amon. They left society behind and started their lives anew, together.
Akira wakes up from the comfort of her new bed, rubbing her eyes. "Hmmm..." She looks over at her left, only to see a certain individual gone. "Seidou...? Ugh, not again..." She gets up from underneath the covers, out of the bed, in search of the male.
Akira was wearing a simple white and yellow tank top and shorts for pajamas. She looks through the living room, not there.
"Seidou." She scoffs. She then checks the bathroom, not there ether.
"Oh Seidou..." She looks out the window to see the hooded figure sitting on the porch, playing with Akira's cat. Pay dirt!
She opens the door. "I should've known you would be out here..." Takizawa looks up at the female, smiling. "Just...thinking." Akira sits next to him. "Couldn't sleep again...?" He nods slowly. "Those nightmares...no matter how hard I try, they can never go away. I don't know what it is..." Akira sighs. "Wanna talk about it?" He shakes his head. "Not really..."
Akira gently places her hand on his upper back, he flinches away. "Sorry, you're still not used to that?" He shakes his head.
He holds the cat, gently petting it. "You know...I never thought a cat could be so peaceful." Akira chuckles. "They have that affect!"
Akira speaks up. "Did you have any pets?" "My family did, a dog. His name was Rocky, I loved him so much." Akira tilts her head in a questioning manner. "What happened to them...?" Takizawa jolts up from the question.
He gulps. "A-Aogiri...they killed them... They killed them!" Akira freezes up. "I-I'm sorry! I didn't... I didn't know." Takizawa takes a breath.
"Maybe you should know..." "I shouldn't!" Takizawa sat up straight. "No, you should... We've been together for a while now."
And so he begins. "When they had me prisoner, they...did things to me, I would rather not talk about that though." He sighs. "Anyway, about six months in, I'm not sure...I was fed." Akira leans forward. "...Fed?" Takizawa nods. "Yes, fed. It wasn't at any significance at the time, they just fed me rarely and only if I was on the brink of death..." He takes a breath. "This story...I never told anyone else about this... So please, appreciate it." He lets go of Maris Stella.
"After I tell you, promise me you won't pity me. I'm just telling you so I can move on..." Akira nods. "I understand. Was it the thing on your mind?" "One of the things..."
Takizawa grabs his arm. "That bastard doctor Kanou came into my cell, he...wanted to tell me something..." "Tell you what?" "As I was eating, he asked me... 'Takizawa, the food you just ate, how did it taste? Did it taste like home perhaps...?' Or something along those lines..." He pauses before continuing. "That's when I realized what they did..." Akira covers her mouth in shock. "Oh my god... They didn't!" Takizawa just nods.
"Ever since he's asked me that question, it has been stuck in my mind. I asked so many questions to myself. 'Why would they do this?' 'Is this some sick perverted joke?!' Things like that. I don't know if they killed just one family member, or all of them, but I knew I couldn't go back with that change. I guess that's what their plan was..." There was a moment of silence. "I just...want to accept it and move on!" Akira holds his hand, then looks him in the eye.
"You can do it, I'm here if you can't do it alone..." Takizawa kisses her forehead. "You don't have to be here..." Akira shakes her head gently. "But I choose to be, silly!" Takizawa chuckles and smiles. "What did I ever do to deserve you...?" Akira suddenly embraces him in a hug. She whispers closely to his ear. "Being there too..."
Takizawa sheds a few tears due to the hug, but he soon pulls it together and holds her tightly. After a while, they both let go. Takizawa stands up. "Well...I should make you some breakfast." Akira chuckles.
"I know how to cook Seidou, and besides, have you ever learned how to?" Takizawa shrugs his shoulders. "Noooo...but I can learn." Akira rolls her eyes. "I'm making my breakfast Seidou." Takizawa slumps in disappointment. "Alright..."
They both go back inside, Maris Stella following behind.
Takizawa sits at the table, waiting for Akira to finish cooking. She looks over at him. "Seidou, why are you waiting if you can't eat my cooking?" Takizawa tilts his head. "You mean you haven't figured that out...? It might seem strange, but I would like to talk to you as you eat." Akira clicks her tongue. "Ah, of course."
Once Akira has finished cooking her meal, she carries the bowl and plate to the table. Takizawa smiles.
"It looks so good!" Akira chuckles. "I thought you don't enjoy human food anymore." "Just because I can't eat it, doesn't mean I can't enjoy it." Akira softly smiles. "Ok then..."
Takizawa starts talking about his night last night. After Akira fell asleep, Takizawa felt it fine to go out since he didn't feel like having the dreams. He kissed her on the forehead softly, careful not to wake her up. He smiled and left. He was roaming the streets in search of some adventure, he came across some pretty familiar ghouls who wished him well, well not all of them.
He met up with Kaneki's girl, Touka for some food. Lately Takizawa has been trying to eat flesh through humans that already died, so far it has been working. Touka wished he and Akira luck, and so he left.
He bumped into Naki and Miza on a late night date. Naki was frank about it, but Miza was majorly embarrassed. Takizawa just laughed at the couple's antics. He of course had to leave them too.
Soon did Takizawa make it to a forest, finally a place for him to be alone and train. He felt so free in that forest; he was allowed to make crazy movements with his kagune if he wanted, he was allowed to keep running, even if he was tired. If he wanted. He would jump from tree to tree because he wanted to. He did so many things in that forest. But that didn't stop him in going back home to Akira.
"So what about you, did you dream about anything?" Takizawa asks his sweetheart. Akira chuckles. "It was a silly dream..." "Ooh, tell me!" "Nah, it's...ridiculous." Takizawa scoffs. "It's not ridiculous if it's you!"
Akira shrugs. "Alright, you asked for it." Akira gets all of her giggles out before starting. "I dreamt that I was working at the CCG, and I was with Amon." "That sounds right." "But that's not all, my father was there too..." Akira chuckles. "We were all joking around, and my father and I were starting all kinds of trouble. We made so many pranks on Amon! You should've seen the look on Amon's face when Father smuggled dragon breath sauce into Amon's curry!" The female bursts out laughing, it was so rare to see her that happy.
Akira and Takizawa had talked a lot about her father, some moments were shared like that. Takizawa was often her support in acceptance, and he was completely okay with that.
Takizawa speaks up. "I wish that could've happened in real life." Akira nods. "Me too..." Akira clears her throat.
"What about you, got any stories involving Houji...?" Takizawa nods. "Of course I do, but...I don't think I'm ready for that." Akira waves her hand. "That's fine! Only when you're comfortable." Takizawa smiles widely.
"There were quite a few though..." Akira looks into his eyes, seeing nostalgia and regret in them. Akira gently places her hand onto Takizawa's cheek. Takizawa holds it back.
After all of that time apart, after all of that time bickering, and after all of that time watching one another from afar, they were finally together.
"Together at last...!" Takizawa whispers into Akira's ear. She smiles, nuzzling even closer. "I know, and it's great."
