Hori chases close behind to Tsukiyama. "Shuu, please! We can talk this out! S-Slow down!" Hori can feel her breath escaping out from her lungs as she calls out to him desperately. "S-Shuu...!" She slows down before kneeling down trying to breathe.

Hori keeps on panting. She still sees Shuu up ahead, reaching for him. "Shuu...I...please, I didn't mean it like that..." Hori begins thinking back at a time where this all started.

He and she both in the high school. Although she was known throughout campus for her quirky personality, Shuu never even knew of her existence. It wasn't until she had caught him feasting upon a person did he learn of their connection.

Shuu was very well known across the campus, for both his appearance and smooth talk. It was so very unlikely that the two would end up as friends, much less anything more than that.

But after seeing Shuu in the state that he was in before, Hori began to question how she felt about it all.

Hori is brought back into reality; she tries calling out to him one more time.

"Shuu!"

Shuu wasn't anywhere in sight however, making Hori feel ever so more helpless. For the first time in her life, she feels this way.

However, when all hope was lost, there was someone there in the distance. "Chie!" It was Shuu.

"I felt really bad about what I did back there, so I came back." Chie looks up at him, panting.

"I-I didn't...I didn't mean it like that..." Shuu shakes his head. "I know that, you would never actually mean it that way, you're too nice for that..." "Than why did you run off?" Shuu sighs as he slides down to the ground next to her.

"I don't know, I guess the wording of what you said really bothered me..." Hori sighs. "What else was I supposed to say...?" Shuu chuckles.

"I guess... 'I get to hang out with Shuu' would've been nice..." Hori jabs her finger at his back.

"Hey Shuu...?" He looks over at her. "Hmm?" "Who would you prefer dating, a ghoul or a human?" Shuu crosses his arms as he thinks over for an answer.

"It really just depends, I really like ghouls, humans are typically food to me. But some humans are too interesting to consider food..." "Wouldn't you see ghouls as food as well?" "Don't switch things around!" He says playfully. Hori giggles.

"Shuu...do you...think guys would ever find me attractive?" Shuu sits up straight. "Why wouldn't they? You're so tiny and cute, I'm surprised no one has picked you up and ran off with you, literally you're that tiny!" Hori laughs.

"That's why I like being with you Shuu...you always know how to make me laugh."

Shuu smiles warmly. "And you, with me..." Hori does the unthinkable and leans her head on Shuu's shoulder.

"Hey Shuu...can you do me a favor and date me?" She asks straightforwardly. Shuu's mouth is left hanging open as he stares at the girl.

"W...Why...?" "Well...I've never dated a boy before, much less a ghoul, and I wanna know what the big deal about it is. And I can't think of anyone else to ask but you. So what will your response be?"

Shuu just sits there, frozen, contemplating if this was real. 'She asked me, and not that Ikuma? Is she joking?' Shuu was thinking to himself. Shuu continues to sit there, flattered.

"Oh no...did I make things awkward? Look, you can say no, I won't mind. Really!" Shuu raises his hand at her, looking away from her, at the ground.

He clears his throat. "I-I would love to..." He said as he blushed deeply. Hori perks up. "Great! Um... When exactly does 'dating' start?" Shuu responded sheepishly. "W-Whenever..."

Hori was slightly surprised, she has never seen Shuu like this. He acted like a school girl who just confessed to her crush.

"Where should it be?" "M-Maybe that restaurant with the parfaits you love so much, it'll be on me..." Hori smiles widely. "Tomorrow?" Shuu nods.

"Awesome, well see you then." And so she leaves. Shuu holds onto his chest.

'How can she be so calm about it?!'

The truth here was that Shuu had this kind of feeling toward the female, but never knew how to respond.

Shuu was going to hope that the two would stay together forever, even if they were just going to be friends by the end of it. Chie was the one human he would prefer to be around. She was not only going to be his pet, his love interest, but his best friend as well.

She was indeed his little, cute, funny Chie.
