Love has a rule. There is only a certain amount of hearts one can carry in their own hands without causing any damage to any of them. And that number is one.

Lara's POV:
As I walk home, I take in the pleasant warmth of this sunny day. It is mid-May, and the weather in London has been improving with every day, preparing for the Summer. It wasn't too hot and neither too cold, and I take a deep breath in satisfaction. Today I had a very productive day at the gym, managing to put together some sick choreo I'm really proud of. But I won't deny that I'm eager to get home and have a nice, warm shower.
Walking into my empty home, I delve upon my following months. Angela told me to take a break- appreciate the big calm before the storm when the movie comes out later this year. It will be press tour, interviews, events all over. So I'm back home, making sure to take some time for myself and my family.
I peel off my sweaty clothes, and after leaving the shower to warm up, I separate a short nightgown to slip on after the shower. It is still afternoon and the sun is up in the sky, but I have no intention of leaving my house today, so why not.
Hair blow-dried and changed into my nightgown, I get my iPad and throw myself onto the couch. After reading "A Court of Thorns and Roses" a while back I had become utterly obsessed with the series and finished them all. Now I'm reading the "Throne of Glass" series by the same author, and I'm on the third book. And I can't get enough.
Hours have gone by, and I'm still immersed in my book, when I'm interrupted by my phone ringing. I feel highkey annoyed, not wanting to stop the scene I'm reading, but then I see Shawn's name flash on my screen. With that, I feel much more eager to pause my reading, and I accept the call.
I haven't seen Shawn in nearly a month. While I had to stay behind for work in LA, Shawn had to leave for his festival tour, as he promoted his new album all over. With me back in London and Shawn on the road, we won't be seeing each for a good while.
"Hey!" I greet. "I'm happy you called, I miss you."
"I miss you too," Shawn says. "Where are you now?"
For some odd reason, I feel like Shawn has called me just to answer that question, but I answer it anyway. "I'm currently in a nightgown reading on my sofa."
"A nightgown huh..." I feel my face heating up at that comment.
"You're impossible."
Shawn laughs. "Don't blame me for wanting to see my girlfriend in a nightgown!"
"Well I went to the gym and I'm feeling too tired to take a picture." I tease.
"Aw, too bad, then it means that you're too tired to open the door for me and let me in, better go back-"
"Wait, what?!" I cut him, and Shawn starts laughing. "What do you mean?"
