Chapter 28 - Home

Laura's P.O.V

We get home and Colby takes me to our room.

"Laura you need sleep. I'll bring you some food ok", Colby says holding my hand.

"Thank you Colby. Sorry to scare everyone", I say feeling guilty for my actions.

"It's ok Laura don't stress. Your health is important ok. Now get some rest. You need it".

Colby then walks out the room to make me something to eat.

Colby's P.O.V

I go to the kitchen and see there is chicken in the fridge. I find some potato's and sweet potato's. I get some peas, corn and carrot.

I start to peal the potato's and put the vegetables in a pot to steam. I roast the potato's and  cook the chicken in the fry pan with not a lot of oil.

Once it was all cooked I walked up to Laura. I open the door slowly and see shes reading a book.

"Couldn't sleep?" I saw walking in.

"No. But this books good."

"What's it called?"

"My secret unicorn... I know a baby book. But my mom said if I ever feel a little home sick just to read this book... She would always read it to me when I was little. Sometimes Corey would read it to me, he was 10 and I was 7. It was my favorite book in the world. I never wanted to read the other books, I always wanted to read this on.."

"Aww. That's adorable... Anyway I made us something to eat."

"Thank you baby. Your the best, I love you."

I give her the plate of food. "Eat as much as you can." I say hugging her and she hugs me back.

"I'll eat this, It looks good and smells delicious, Thank you." She says and starts to eat it, I eat with her.

I'm proud she ate most of  er food, not all of it but it's a start. Better then nothing. I smile and take her plate and wash the dishes. 

Corey comes down and stands at the bench.

"Is she doing any better?" Corey asks.

"Coreyyyyy" I hear Laura faintly say.

"Coming Laura. I guess she wants me to read my secret unicorn to her." Corey says as he gets some water and walks to her room.

Corey's P.O.V

I walk into Laura's room. "Can you read this to me. Like old times?" she asks.

"Yeah I can." I say sitting next to her and continue reading for her.

"There was a flash of purple light and the mist cleared. In the mirror, an imaged appeared. It was a small gray pony. Another unicorn came up to the table. It grazed at the gray pony thoughtfully. 'So, he is still looking for the right owner, to free his powers?'. 

The golden-horned unicorn nodded his head. 'His last owner was often unkind.'

The other unicorn tossed it's mane. It's silvery horn flashed in the light cast by the mirror. 'Surely, somewhere out there, there must be someone who is good-hearted enough? Someone who has the imagination to believe in magic?'

'I think there is,' golden-horned unicorn said softly. 'Watch. She is coming.'". I continue reading and she slowly falls asleep. I put the bookmark in the book and place it on the bedside table and put the blanket on her and kiss her forehead and walk out and close the door.

I sigh. "Is everything ok?" Colby asked.

"Yeah, she's just asleep now, she needs her rest" I say walking down the stairs.

"So what do you wanna do?" Colby asked.

"Let's play super speed" I say and we walk to the lounge to play super speed. (Car race game)
