Misaki glanced outside her window. It was already the time for the float parade, she saw people wearing costumes from afar.

" How I wish to go there too." Misaki pouted while watching the people who passes by. They all looked happy and was chatting, looking so excited.

" Misaki~." the voice called from outside her room.

Misaki sighed and sat down on the chair in front of her desk. She held her pencil and opened her book acted as if she was reading a while ago.

Her mother opened the door and looked at Misaki who looked busy. " Misaki?"

" Yes, mother?" Misaki asked without looking at her. She placed a bookmark in between the page she was reading before closing the book.

" Let's have dinner alright?" Mina, her mother smiled at her. Misaki's ears perked up and happily followed her mother to the dining area.

" How was your day? I heard that you studied pretty hard." Mina chuckled while placing their dinner on the table.

Misaki nodded her head happily. " Yes, mother. The teachers were nice enough to explain everything to me."

" But... you see, mother. It's the float festival... Can't you take me there?" Misaki hesitantly asked her mother. Mina blinked her eyes for a couple of times as she sat across Misaki.

" Oh..."

Mina pursed her lips while scooping food dor Misaki. " Eat up, Misaki. You still need to finish your homework."

Misaki felt devasted, it was always her mother's reply whenever she brings the topic of wanting to go out. Misaki has been making herself busy by doing homework every night and taking lessons during morning.

She was pretty lonely for a kid. She didn't have friends to play with but she has dolls. She didn't get to play outside or at parks but she reads fairytale books.

Her mother couldn't help but to feel bad for her treatment towards Misaki. She barely had time but when she has, they watch movies together or even bake sweets.

" The teacher taught me how to multiply and divide... Fractions gave me a headache but it was all fine, mom." Misaki giggled, trying to change the topic and ease the tension.

Mina smiled at her daughter. " Is that so? I'll buy you ice cream after I leave my work tomorrow okay? My daughter studies hard, I'm so proud of you."

Misaki thanked her mother for the food before going back to her room. She tidied up her things before washing and changing her clothes.

" Ashikaga Mirai Misaki." Misaki smiled in front of her huge mirror inside her closet.

She was in her pajamas and checked herself out from the mirror.

" Just how deadly are you?" she asked and pointed at her reflection.

Misaki pouted and crossed her arms together. " Couldn't even go out because you will hurt the others."

" You lonely girl, just keep on studying until you grow up." Misaki shook her head sadly.

Misaki stared at her reflection before bursting out of laughter. " Why do I even do this every night."

She closed her closet and sat on the window's ledge. She stared at the lights coming from the float festival.

" Such pretty lights." Misaki mumbled to herself.

Suddenly, she saw a black cat outside of their gate. It was staring at her while sitting " So cute, kitty." Misaki commented.

She then decided to sneak outside and look at the cat closely. Misaki knew that her mother was inside her own room and the housekeeper were resting.

She had biscuits inside her pocket and  cautiously opened their front door. She tip toed towards their gate, greeting the black cat.

" Kitty~." Misaki beamed happily. The cat walked to her with much caution.

The black cat rubbed its head on Misaki's legs, asking for food.

" Oh? Are you hungry?" Misaki asked and gave the cat a pet on the head.

She opened the biscuit's pack and crumbled it a little so the cat could eat it.

" What a cute kitty." Misaki giggled and took a piece of the biscuit, eating it.

" Look, we're eating together." Misaki commented while munching. " It is my first time eating with a cat."

Suddenly, while Misaki was having fun with the cat, Mina arrived and saw Misaki sitting on the ground with the cat snuggled on her feet.

" When I am allowed to go outside, I will buy you tons of food! Don't be selfish and share it with other cats okay?" Misaki stated while petting the resting cat.

" It's nice to chat with you, black cat. If my mother sees that I'm here, she'll probably scold me." Misaki tilted her head to a side.

Mina was about to take Misaki inside the house but sighed instead. She let Misako enjoy the wind's breeze and the cat's company.

She feels bad for not letting Misaki to interact with other kids who are not an alice. But she needed to hide her from the academy knowing that they would use her for possessing multiple alice.

" I'm sorry, Misaki... If only he was here, he would know what to do." Mina muttered and held her temple before going back to her room after asking a housekeeper to keep an eye on Misaki.
