It was Kaoru's graduation day. Yuka and Mina were waiting for Kaoru under a tree outside the school building. The two actually prepared a gift for Kaoru and Yuka was holding the small black box that was tied with a pretty red silk ribbon.
" Congratulations, Senpai!" Mina cheered and hugged Kaoru before stepping aside making a way for Yuka. Kaoru chuckled seeing that the two made an effort to surprise her on her last day as a Gakuen Alice student.
" Yuka, Mina..." Kaoru smiled at the two girls. " Congratulations on graduating." Yuka smiled sincerely and handed the box over.
The older female smiled as she received the gift. " Thank you, you two didn't have to make much effort for me." she then let out a sigh. " This is the very day that I've been waiting for... to leave this place." Kaoru joked before laughing shortly.
" But you know, the moment I stepped foot here in the academy... I've always wanted to leave the gates." she confessed and gave Yuka a light tap on the head with her rolled diploma that she was holding." I didn't expect to feel sad about this, especially since someone keeps on worrying me." Kaoru chuckled. She was pointing out that she's reluctant to leave the academy's gates because of Yuka.
Since they became close throughout their stay in the academy, it was hard to leave her behind but there isn't anything that they can do about it.
" Look after this troublesome girl for me, Mina. We both know that she's careless at times." Kaoru said while patting Mina's back. She then turned back to Yuka. " As for you, I really want to know about the secret that you've been hiding... but if you really don't want to say it, I won't force you." Kaoru half-whispered and pulled Yuka into a hug.
" Senpai--..." Yuka called out in surprise.
Everyone around them turned toward their direction as if something interesting was happening. Kaoru clasped the chain necklace around Yuka's neck. The necklace's pendant was Kaoru's alice stone.
" This might be useful to you one day." Kaoru stated. " Thank you, senpai." Yuka wholeheartedly said. Mina was like watching a touching movie as the two females exchanged conversations.
" To stop students from being like you and I, Yuka... I plan on fighting outside the academy so my safety isn't assured." Kaoru held Yuka's right hand and held Mina's left hand. " Once the two of you step outside the academy's gates, promise me that you'd come and find me. I will both welcome you warmly."
Yuka's mind recalled the elementary principal's threat that she could never leave the academy. Mina on the other hand happily promised to do so but felt uneasy for some reason seeing that Yuka looked hesitant.
Yuka was touched after hearing what Kaoru said. If she pushes through and fights like what she has been doing she definitely can leave the academy. " I promise. Please wait for me." Yuka smiled with teary eyes.
From afar, Shiki was looking in their direction the whole time, worrying if Yuka feels all right or not. Kaoru hugged Yuka and Mina tightly for the last time before finally leaving the two.
Shiki's focus on Yuka suddenly got disrupted since someone bumped onto him accidentally. " Oh no, I'm sorry--" the guy apologized. " Shiki-Kun? I didn't realize that you were there, I really am sorry." he scratched his nape while Shiki just stared at him.
The guy was..." Ashi--?" Shiki called out in confusion since he couldn't remember his classmate's name.
" Yes, it's me... Ashikaga Ryosuke-- wait, do you not recognize me? I'm your classmate for years!" Ryosuke pouted. The fact that his name wasn't even known by Shiki made him sad.
Ryosuke has blonde-ish hair with pink-red colored eyes and he was a little bit taller and toned than Shiki. He possesses fragrance alice and could manipulate people's mood and minds through it.
"Ah..." Shiki replied monotonously before glancing back at Yuka and Mina who was now walking away. Ryosuke looked in the direction where Shiki's attention is and saw two girls walking side by side.
" So, that's your girl?" Ryosuke nosily asked and somehow pointed at Yuka. Shiki blushed and glared at Ryosuke. " No," he replied intensely before leaving the guy behind, he remembered that he would introduce this guy to Mina but he decided to act as if he forgot it.
Ryosuke on the other hand was utterly confused by the guy's reaction. " Is he mad or something..." he muttered under his breath.
Several days had passed after the graduation. Mina was groggily making her way out of the student council office until a student came rushing down the corridor at top speed.
" Out of the way, out of the way!" the student shouted while running. The students that were walking along the corridor stepped aside but Mina was too late to react and got pushed aside by the running student to avoid clashing.
" Ugh." Mina groaned painfully as she slammed by the wall, cushioning the impact with her arm. " This bastard--" she cursed under her breath while regaining her balance and held her sore arm." Are you okay?" A guy asked. Mina looked at the person who came to help her. " Huh? Y-yeah." she stuttered.
It was her long-time crush, Ryosuke who was on his way to the faculty office. " Are you sure? Maybe you need to visit the clinic." He asked and leaned closer to inspect Mina's arm that was covered by her sleeves.
However, Mina stepped back in embarrassment. " No, need! I can handle it myself." The guy didn't believe her and grabbed Mina's uninjured arm.
" With that kind of expression-- it looks pretty painful for me." Ryosuke tilted his head before dragging the girl to the school's clinic. Mina didn't even get a chance to refuse.
As soon as they arrived, Ryosuke asked the nurse to examine and apply medicine on Mina's arm to ease the pain. " Quickly." Ryosuke urged the nurse. " Don't be impatient, young man." the nurse replied and took care of Mina.
Mina kept looking back at her arm that was being treated and Ryosuke who was staring at her the whole time. She blushed under Ryosuke's stare and cleared her throat awkwardly.
She never expected to encounter her crush this way since she constantly checks him out from afar and never tried to interact with him even during the academy's events.
" Thanks to that student awhile ago." Mina mumbled happily and pursed her lips together to prevent cracking a smile. When the nurse was done she gave Mina painkillers to take whenever her arm hurts.
" Be careful next time, lady. This boyfriend of yours would worry if you get hurt again." The nurse chuckled before going back to her desk.
" Thanks, but he's not--" Mina started but Ryosuke butted in.
" Yeah, thanks a lot, aunt. See you around." he beamed and signaled Mina to follow him. The two then left the clinic.
Mina scratched her nape. " Uhm, thanks for bringing me here. I'm Masachika Mina, and you are?" she introduced. As if she doesn't know this guy's name. She knew it ever since she laid her eyes on him during her elementary days while he was a middle school student.
Ryosuke smiled at her. " Ryosuke, Ashikaga Ryosuke. I've seen you before... You were with Shiki-kun back then." he stated. Mina blushed thinking that he actually remember her.
" Ah, yes-- I've been with him a lot these days, I didn't even know that he's my relative until recently." Mina chuckled shortly and later on felt very awkward.
Ryosuke looked at her from top to down as if he was checking her out. Mina awkwardly laughed and looked away. " I... better get going, thanks." she squeaked and hurriedly walked away. " S-see you around!"
" Let's see each other again, Mina-chan. " Ryosuke watched her leave. " Where else did I see her before..." he said and tapped his chin while thinking carefully.
Meanwhile, Yuka and Narumi were walking together. They saw Yukihira and two little boys who were hugging the teacher's leg while bickering.
" Let go, he's mine! Stupid." The boy who was wearing glasses hissed while glaring at the other boy.
" You let go, ugly!" The latter replied. Both didn't have any intention to leave Yukihira alone.
" Sensei, who are those kids?" Yuka asked while they walked closer to the teacher. Narumi looked at the kids then back to Yuka.
" Sakurano Shuuichi, 6 years old." Yukihira motioned at the boy who was at his right then at the boy who was at his left that was wearing glasses. " Imai Subaru, 6 years old."
" It's not that their alice is special but they are pretty strong for kids at their age." Yukihira commented while looking at the two boys who were roasting each other. " A certain someone already has set their eyes on the two but these boys...they don't get along too well." the teacher sighed and saw Yuka sitting to be on the same level as the kids.
" Yuka Senpai..." Narumi called since they need to leave already.
Yuka's eyes were gentle, the boys looked at her in curiosity. " These boys, I won't let them experience the same thing as I did. No worries. I want to protect them too, just like Sensei." Yuka smiled and captured the Sakurano and Subaru's attention.
With Yuka's help, she made the boys get along with each other which surprised Yukihira in the end making him blush as he watches Yuka. " Smile~." Yuka beamed making the boys laugh happily.
Suddenly, rain droplets fell upon them. Narumi already left in urgency while Yukihira, Yuka, Subaru, and Sakurano were there. They quickly teleported with the boys back to the dormitory and searched for a place to take cover from the rain.
" We're saved by the teleportation alice that you and Sakurano possess. Thank you... But we're all wet." Yukihira heaved a sigh before laughing awkwardly.
" I'm sorry, but could you teleport me back to the middle school building? I still have something to do there." he asked while holding Yuka's hand.
The girl glanced at him while blushing because of the sudden skinship. Yukihira was all red when their eyes connected. The teacher pulled Yuka close to him, making her fall on his wide chest." Sensei?" Yuka suddenly called out while still within Yukihira's arms. Yukihira suddenly snapped out of his trance and was surprised to see Yuka close to him.
" Woah!" he exclaimed and let Yuka go before turning his back toward the girl. His face and ears turned red. " Crap..." he hissed under his breath. " Sorry-- my hand slipped. It moved by itself-" he coughed and explained quickly before running away from the girl.
" Sensei!" Yuka called out in confusion but Yukihira didn't look back.
He then found himself inside the Highschool Principal's office. He slumped on the ground and moped. " Why did I do that?! What do I do, Aniki?!" Yukihira held his head and turned toward his older brother who was reading the newspaper.
" It'll be solved if you go and die." his brother joked and caused Yukihira to sulk even more. Jinno found it very troubling. " Do you even know what you're saying? She's a student." Jinno lectured Yukihira who was sitting on the ground contemplating.
The troubled teacher sighed heavily. " I know. Ever since she was little, I already knew that this kind of feeling isn't possible. But the moment I saw her, my body lost its control." He knew about Yuka's feelings but pretended not to see them. " I wonder why I'm feeling this way." he groaned and ruffled his hair out of frustration.
