Misaki couldn't resist a mischievous grin as she teased Ruka about his rosy cheeks and embarrassed state. " There's no need to be embarrassed about Ruka-pyon," she chortled, her sly expression painting the picture of her amusement.
Inchou seemed to share a sense of pity for Ruka as he observed the teasing he received from both Misaki and Mikan. " Misaki, please," Ruka pleaded, surrendering to the relentless teasing, realizing he couldn't outwit her wit.
Misaki couldn't contain her excitement at the thought of Mikan and Ruka performing together on stage. She couldn't help but imagine how cute it would be, a sentiment shared by many who had eagerly anticipated the play.
Ruka, now blushing uncontrollably, seemed oblivious to the world around him. The play was beginning, and he was the main character, playing Snow White. All eyes were on him, yet his focus was unwavering, trained on Mikan and her enchanting presence.
The backstage remained chaotic as characters were stuck to each other, leading to some improvisation. Amid the chaos, Natsume's intense gaze fell on Misaki. He approached her, frustration evident in his eyes, and called her over.
" Oi," Natsume greeted her, his voice laced with an unspoken challenge. Misaki raised an eyebrow, reciprocating with a serious expression. She was trying to give off an intimidating aura as she held onto the mug.
" Problem, wild cat?" she inquired, arms crossed as she maintained her act, portraying a fierce persona. Natsume voiced his displeasure. " You're the reason why I'm dressed up like this."
" I know. What's wrong with that?" Misa-chan responded, her defiance unwavering. Natsume, uncharacteristically agitated. " I'll get back to you once the play is over." He promised leaving a chill in the air.
The student's announcement signaled the beginning of the play. The audience quieted down as they finalized last-minute preparations.
Mikan, now in her princely attire, approached Ruka, who was still taken aback by her transformation. Nervously, she inquired, " I feel so weird having my hair down! Will I do okay?" Her anxiety was palpable, and Ruka, the object of her attention, was left in stunned silence.
Ruka tried to offer a compliment, but his awkward response elicited groans from their friends. " Oh, Ruka-pyon. Is that really what you were going to say?" they teased, playfully nudging him.
The students gathered onstage, ready to start the play, as Narumi sensei directed them. As the curtain rose and Ruka, portraying Snow White, stepped forward, the audience's anticipation grew.
Sumire, perfectly cast as the cursed Sleeping Beauty and the Witch, delivered her lines flawlessly, fitting her role like a glove. Koko, the mind reader, played the quirky magic mirror that answered the Witch's queries. Their performance enchanted the audience.
In an unexpected twist, Narumi sensei had a role as well, appearing as the Huntsman. "Hello there little kitten." His delivery was over-the-top and melodramatic, drawing unexpected laughter from the audience. "Sorry for interrupting your fun! I am the huntsman-..."
"Come to pierce your pink heart with the cupid's arrow! Pleased to meet you!"
"Just kidding! I am here to literally pierce your heart with a real arrow! Though its an order from the queen, I can't lay a hand on such a charming girl, therefore..." he dramatically spoke. Ruka looks very confused and taken a back.
He walked towards Snow White and held Ruka's chin saying his line cheesily, "... Perhaps I'll steal these lovely lips!" and chuckled after.
The animals then proceeded to push Narumi the Huntsman away from Snow White. Ruka the Snow White then narrowly escapes.
Misaki turned to the script reader who was beside her, " Is that really the script?"The script reader gasped and glanced at Narumi sensei." Naruuuuuuu! That guy changed the script without telling!" he shrieked.
She snorted and shook her head. " It's a good thing that almost all female students here likes Narumi sensei."
The plot progressed as Snow White encountered the Seven Dwarves, and that's when Youichi and Natsume appeared onstage, the latter astonishing the audience.
" Wewcome, Snow White! Dis is my fwiend widecat-kun!" You-chan said. Natsume stared blankly into the crowd, he emitted a simple " meow."
A spectacle for the audience, Natsume's unexpected appearance left Misaki unsurprised and ready to face his ire. Natsume was utmost displeased with Misaki's reaction. Nonetheless, the performance continued.
In a delightful turn of events, a production staff handed Misaki an apple during the final scene. As she pondered its significance, it was an extra which she could snack on but Youichi tugged at her blouse. Observing the apple, Misaki understood and handed it to him.
The play concluded with Snow White poisoned by the apple and destined to eternal slumber. Mikan, as the Prince, stumbled upon Snow White's tomb, a moment charged with anticipation.
" At least let me give her a farewell kiss," Mikan proposed, looking to Narumi sensei for guidance. Holding a sign instructing her to kiss Snow White on the lips, she hesitated, and their eyes met.
" Not today..." Hotaru protectively said knowing Narumi changed the script for the nth time on the spot wanting to stop Mikan's advances since it wasn't the flow. The audience leaned in, eager to witness the climax of the play. Just as Mikan was about to lean in for the kiss, Misaki and Hotaru decided it was best to intervene. Hotaru manipulated the lights as Misa-chan grabbed her shoe, preparing to throw it.
However, before she could act, Natsume swiftly snatched her shoe from her hand and hurled it toward Mikan. Timed with the lights shutting off, it hit Mikan on the head, ending the dramatic moment and eliciting a moment of silence from the audience. Mikan's lips drifted on Ruka's cheek instead with the aid of Misaki's shoe.
When the lights came back on, Mikan and Ruka were slightly apart, and Ruka, now the Princess, awakened from her slumber where both parties were blushing hard. Narration ensued, and the cast took a bow, signaling the end of the performance.
The audience erupted into applause and cheers, reveling in the success of the play.
Misaki couldn't help but turn to Natsume, expressing her gratitude. " Thank you, we owe you one, Natsume," she said in relief, beaming and giggling. Natsume's response was his typical one-word reply: " Idiot."
