Ouriel: "A Saint's Adherence"

Prologue

Ouriel POV

I smiled as my patient thanked me for healing her wounds before leaving happily along with her friends. It feels good helping a lot of people... it makes me feel peace.

I don't always take field missions and would rather have paper works or just be here in the guild clinic just healing others and curing illnesses. Someone knocked on the door before it opened revealing Angel peeking from outside.

"Ouriel... it's almost lunch time. Do you want me to bring your lunch?" Angel asked me with a soft voice.

"Hmm..." I began to ponder. If I eat outside, my friends wouldn't be there because they all have missions today. It's a busy week for them since they are getting broke so they need to do lots of missions to make up for it. I look at Angel who is waiting for my answer. "Sure thing! You can eat with me if you like.." I offered making her eyes widen and blushed a little. She is a shy girl but she is actually very kind and helpful. She likes helping me a lot here in the clinic eventhough she's not assigned here. She just said that she's so bored and felt like helping.

I really dont mind anyway... it is her will so I don't have any complaints as long as she does well and likes helping others.

"Uhmmm.. n-no! It's fine... I'll just eat outside..."

"I insist... it gets kinda lonely here in the clinic if I eat alone." I smiled making her sigh in defeat.

"Well okay... I'll bring our lunch here now!" She chirped before slowly closing the door and ran.

She sometimes makes my lunch which I told her that she doesn't have to but she still insisted. I kinda wondered why but I chose not to assume things. Besides, her cooking is delicious! So I guess it's not much of a big deal.

Angel came back with our lunch. Just in time it's 12 in the afternoon so I put the sign as closed in the door outside.

"So what's for lunch today?" I asked with a smile and she just grinned at me before showing my lunch.

"Your all time favorite! Grilled Steak!"

"Nice! I am kinda craving for a meaty steak today.. thank you, Angel." I sincerely said making her cheeks turn pink as she smiled sweetly at me.

"You're much welcome!"

We both began to dig in silently. It wasn't that awkward since this isn't the first time we eat together alone. I kinda enjoyed her company here.

"So uhmm.. what's your plan for your birthday?" Angel asked me.

Oh right... my birthday is next week. Hmmm.. I'm not really sure what to do for my birthday. I guess we could just celebrate at home, have a little drink and fun conversations like how we used to do. I don't really like big parties and stuff... just a fun time with my friends is enough. Maybe I will go to my hometown first before I celebrate just to visit my mother.

"Hmmm... I guess before my birthday I'll go visit my mom. Then celebrate at home with some booze and just random conversations. Vile and the others know how to make a normal and simple celebration into a fun one anyway." I said which made her laugh and agreed with me.

"I see... so it's just gonna be you and your friends?" She asked me again. I glanced at her and I can see that she also want to come. Well, not like I won't invite her.

"I didn't say it was just me and my friends... you and your sister are invited too and of course, Ryz and her friends." I said making her face lit up and grinned at me.
