Chapter 11

Cydo's pov

The next morning, I was curled up close to something warm. I sleepily opened my eyes a bit to see my Alpha, his arms wrapped around me, holding me close.

I buried my head into his chest and gripped his hoody. But I was careful not to wake him as I did so. I don't know how long I laid there.

Eventually, Jack stirred. He lifted a hand and petted my hair. I hadn't expected him to do it, but it relaxed me. He sighed quietly before moving his head to look down at me.

He pulled me closer and just held me, resting his head on mine. He was so warm and gentle with his touch. He was really sweet if you looked close enough. I wonder if he'll ever abandon me? I hope not. I could never survive without him now.

He sighed and began to get up. He started to slide his arm out from under me when he noticed me gripping his hoody. He slipped my fingers off and got up.

I didn't want him to leave, but I didn't stop him. He grabbed his mask and slipped it on. He adjusted his hoody before slipping out the door, closing it quietly behind him.

I stayed in bed a bit longer, wishing he stayed. Jack is much sweeter than he lets everyone think. He's always the big, bad, tough guy, but really he's sweet and caring.

My heart felt warmer for some reason and the strange feeling came back. Oh, how I wonder what it is. No one's ever held me through a storm. Or even got close to me and survived.

But then again, no one would be strong enough to hold me still and not get shredded. Jack was the first. He seems to be the first at everything.

First Alpha, first to best me, first to fight me and win, first to hold me, first to survive,...

I finally got up and brushed my knotted hair out. I didn't need to change because I hadn't changed last night. I had slept in my day clothes.

There was a knock at my door and I got up to answer it. Upon opening the door, I found Jack waiting. Odd. Why didn't he just come in?

"Ready?" he asked. I nodded.

"Good. We need to be quick. Slender's sending me out, so I won't be here for about a week. Give or take. You'll have to go hunting yourself. I asked Jeff to take you if not."

I nodded. We made our way out the door and immediately ran out to start our hunt. It stayed light out and we ended up preying on a pack of hikers.

"I'll take you to hunt in a city when I get back. Promise." he told me as we headed back.

"Where are you going?" I asked him.

"To go take care of some sort of specially trained hunters. Slender usually sends the proxies, but they got fucked up the last time. He would've sent Jeff, but if he got injured, he wouldn't be fast enough to get away." he informed me. I felt bummed out that he was leaving for awhile. What will I do without him?

"Don't worry. I will come back. I'm not just gonna up and die by some filthy mother fuckin' cock suckers." he assured me. I giggled at his language.

"I know you won't. But why can't I go with you?" I asked. He sighed.

"I actually had asked him if you could come. He said that we still don't know what you're capable of and that it could be a problem. Plus he pointed out that I'm still not used to having a 'partner in crime'." Jack explained as we walked in the door. I muttered a small 'ok'.

"I'll let you follow next time." he promised. I nodded as I went to join Sally and Charlie on the floor.

"Were you just having a conversation with Cydo?" BEN asked my Alpha.
