Jack's pov

As we walked through the woods, my mind trailed to her hand in mine. It was so fragile, yet I could feel power. I wonder what she is...

I found myself thinking about this morning. She was so close, and not at all fearful. I really didn't think she would ever trust me again. I felt like having a heart attack.

After what had happened,... I didn't think... Damn it. I can't believe this shit.

She glanced over at me and I was thankful for my mask. I'm too fucking frustrated than I'm used to. I had told her that I'd never really loved anyone before...

I wonder if I actually feel that way...

Is this the reason I'm so surprised that she trusted me again so fast? Am I in love with her? I guess I wouldn't mind a beta...

I was so distracted that I hadn't noticed we were coming up on a hunting party.

I felt a tug on my hand as Cydo stopped and crouched, not letting me go. I quickly responded and got down as well. A group of 7. This won't take long.

I looked around for their weapons. They each had a gun of some sort, mostly hunting rifles. But they were too close to chase them away from them.

"Careful. We don't want any injuries." I told Cydo, quietly.

"You seemed distracted. You should be telling yourself that." she purred. I shook my head and stifled a chuckle.

"On your mark." I whispered.

"Get se-" Cydo started.

Suddenly, a bullet came at us. We jumped back from it and looked in the opposite direction of the hunters.

2 other hunters from the party were shooting at us. Surely the others know about us now. They would've heard the shots.

"Go!" I barked at Cydo.

She quickly recollected herself and bolted at the 2 hunters. She tore them down instantly as I was attacked by another hunter. The man tried to grabbed me in a headlock, but I put my arm in the way and slipped out.

I flipped the man over my back and slammed him on the ground. 2 other hunters came toward me but I threw the first man into them. They hit the ground and were stunned, giving me the time to kill them all.

Cydo had killed the last 4 and was sitting on the ground holding her arm. Her expression said that she was fine, but her arm said she was wounded.

"You ok?" I asked her. She glanced up at me as if she was snapped out of a trance. She nodded.

"Your arm says otherwise." I told her. She looked at her arm and she looked surprised.

"When did I..." she muttered.

"Go ahead and eat. We'll get you fixed up when we get home."

She nodded again and made her way to the bodies. I found my mind wondering back to what she is. She doesn't act or look human, she eats them. She's very strong and fast. And extremely vicious.

And she eats alot. I've noticed that she doesn't seem to stop eating unless she runs out. She's almost... Gluttonous.

Perhaps I could tell Slender about the things I've noticed. He might be able to narrow it down. If not to one creature, then a few.

I was leaning against a tree, fiddling with my ring, when Cydo came back to me. My first reaction was to grab her arm to look at it. It was almost completely healed.

"Almost healed..." I repeated aloud.

"What?" Cydo asked.

"Your wound. It healed much faster than I expected."
