Chapter 13

Cydo's pov

Over the rest of the week, Jeff took me hunting and Sally kept me occupied. I didn't challenge anyone else and everyone tried not to annoy me.

But I have gotten an odd feeling. One that I knew well. Something was wrong. Something bad will happen soon. I just hope it doesn't involve Jack.

It was time for Jack to come home. I sat on the porch and refused to move. I wanted to be here when Jack returned.

"Child, why don't you come inside?" Slender asked me.

'I'm waiting.' I thought.

"For Jack?"

'Yes.'

"He'll be back. He may not be back for awhile. I'm sure he'll come see you when he returns."

'I just want to be here when he does get here. If he needs help, then I'll be here to help him in. No one can or will change my mind about it.'

"Very well." he said before walking back inside. I will be here for him if he needs me.

I waited and waited for him. It was long and grueling. It has been a few days after he was supposed to return and I got anxious. Then I heard a sound.

My ears picked up a rustling sound. Footstep? Through leaves? Is that Jack?

I sniffed the air as the wind blew and caught Jack's scent. Jack's back! I got up and ran to him. He was injured and I instantly stood. I put his arm around my neck and helped him to the house.

I don't think he'd appreciate me picking him up and I'm unsure about his different injuries. I helped him inside, everyone else was already asleep.

I helped him to his room and set him on his bed. I got stuff from the infirmary and brought it back to him. I began treating his major injuries as he watched. Something felt... Off. Although I had no idea what it was.

"You were waiting for me this whole time?" he questioned me.

"No. I began waiting when you were expected back. Although it's been a few days and you're injured, I'm happy you're back." I told him softly.

"I kind of had a little trouble. But I did my job." he said as I finished with the rest of his wounds. When I was done, he tried to get up. I stopped him.

"Cydo, I have to report to Slender." he informed me.

"I know, but it can wait until tomorrow."

"Cydo-"

"Jack you're injured. You must stay." I interrupted.

"Are you disobeying me?" he asked.

"N-no... But..."

"Cydo. Listen to me and let me go." he said.

"Jack, you're tired and injured. You're my Alpha and you have all my respect, but I will only ask this one thing of you. Then I'll never ask for anything else. Just please, stay in bed and tell him tomorrow." I said. He huffed.

"Fine. This is a one time thing though." he said and I nodded. I turned to leave and he grabbed my arm. I looked at him in confusion.

"Stay." he said and I turned to him, "Stay in here with me."

I nodded and obeyed. He pulled me next to him as he laid down on the bed. He... Does he... Like me like that? Does he have feelings for me?

As I lay next to him, my heart felt warm, yet cold for some reason. Why does something feel so wrong?

"Did you miss me?" Jack asked me.

"Yes, alot." I said nervously.

"Alpha? Or Jack?"

"...Jack..."

"I missed you too." he said. I looked up at him, surprised. He had his mask off and he was looking down at me.

He started to lean his head down before pressing his lips on mine. My heart felt light, yet it hurt. Why? Why do I have mixed feelings?

He began to move and he started getting on top of me. His tongue tried to get in my mouth, but I refused. He seemed to get angry.

"Let me in. Now." he ordered. I still refused, turning my head away. This felt wrong. Something was wrong.

One of his injuries seemed to be a blunt blow to the head. Did that mess him up? I can't do this. He can't do this.

I pushed on him, trying to push him away. He growled.

"Jack. Isn't this uh... Too fast? I mean... We uh don't really know each other that well..." I stuttered.

"Too fast? For what? I'm your Alpha. You do as I say. Got it?" he told me, "Now let me in."

As much as I didn't want to disobey, I still felt this was wrong. I bit his nose and pushed him, catching him off guard. He fell onto the bed beside me and I jumped off.

I stayed on all fours for speed as Jack got up. No. Not Jack. Not Alpha. Someone else.

He got up, holding his nose. He growled and lunged at me. I lept away before he got close. His injuries slowed him down a bit, thankfully.

"Bitch. You will obey me. I am your fucking Alpha!" he howled at me.

He chased me around the room until he grabbed my foot. I hit the ground hard and yelped. I hope someone heard me.

"You'll be yelping alot more in a minute." he growled.

"Slender! Help!" I yelled. Jack hit me.

"Shut. Up." he barked. I struggled as he leaned into my face.

Suddenly, he was jerked off of me roughly. He growled as he began struggling and jerking in midair. A needle was stabbed into his neck and a light blue liquid was injected into him.

His struggling slowed before he went completely limp. I shivered as I laid there. Slender laid Jack on his bed before turning to me.

'Oh my god. Did he kill him? Will he kill me? What was wrong with my Alpha?' I was starting to hyperventilate and backed up to the wall, hoping to get away.

"Child it's alright." Slender said as he knelt in front of me, "Jack isn't dead. I just sedated him. He's just going to sleep the rest of the night."

I was still frightened by his behavior and tears began to drip down my face.

"It's alright now. I won't let that happen again." he said, "I despise my own brother for that kind of behavior. I'll have Jeffery take you hunting tomorrow. Jack will need to rest anyway. I'll have him keep his distance until you feel ready. This was not him, don't worry he won't do this again."

I let out my last tear and nodded. Slender helped me up and led me to my room. I walked in and changed after locking my door. I laid in bed and wrapped myself in my blankets.

I knew something was off. Why didn't I have someone wait with me? I'm sure someone would've stayed with me. Right?

I fell asleep after letting one last tear slip. I hope Slender's right...
