Chapter 27

Jack's pov

Something's wrong. Well, everything's wrong, but I mean with Cydo.

Offender has me in a tight hold. Everything that makes him mad, he pulls on my arms. Dumbass will rip me apart. Then Cydo will show no mercy.

But I can see it. I don't think anyone else notices, but I do. There's a dark aura surrounding her, a black cloud just emitting from her. Offender probably thinks it's normal. BEN's camera probably can't even pick it up. No one sees.

I heard Cydo start to whisper under her growls. Offender hears her.

"He... is..." she starts.

"He's what now? Dead?" Offender asks as he begins pulling on me again. I growl in pain and Cydo bellows out.

"MINE!"

She lunges at Offender with enough force to send them through the wall, dragging me as well. Offender howls in pain as Cydo tears a tendril from his back, throwing it and lunging for his neck.

The pain distracts him and he let's me go. But I can't get up, I just can't get my limbs to hold my weight. I'm too out of energy to speak. All I can do is watch.

To watch as Cydo tears at Offender mercilessly. As Slender tries to contain her with no prevail. She might kill him too if he's not careful...

Cydo... Fuck you Offender...

My vision started to fade, but I wanted to see what they do to her... It's not her fault...

The last thing I saw was BEN racing toward her. There was a flash, and I blacked out. Damn.

I woke up in a room I knew like the back of my mask. The infirmary. My first instinct was to sit up, but that proved to be a problem. I was incredibly sore. I could barely fucking move.

My mind instantly jumped to Cydo. Where is she? Did they kill her? Oh god, what happened?

I forced myself to sit up for a few minutes before making myself stand. I tried to walk, but fell immediately after. I'm won't give up, I need to know what they did.

This is all his fault.

Had Offender not threatened her, I wouldn't have attacked him. Cydo wouldn't have got dragged in. She wouldn't have attacked him. She was protecting me this time.

I summoned up all my strength and stood up again. I stumbled and nearly fell a few times, but didn't stay down long. I need to know...

I made it to the door and tried the knob. I can't fucking believe it. They locked me in. Why? What the hell?

I thought for a moment before moving to the shelves. Everyone has their secrets. Did they think I'd tell someone?

I slid a few jars over and pulled at a loose board. It wiggled out of place with some effort to reveal a few things.

A key being one of them.

I grabbed the key and headed back to the door. I shoved the key in the lock and turned it. The door opened afterwards.

All pain ignored, I walked down the hallway. I knew where to go first. Always the study.

I made it down the stairs with difficulty, but I managed. First alarm went off in my head. No one was in the living room. BEN and Jeff's game was still on, but paused.

The floor was littered and the wall was still broken down. I looked in the hole to see an empty study. Second alarm went off. No one was in the study.
