Chapter 22

Jack's pov

The fireworks were too loud and there was nowhere for Cydo to hide. I quickly grabbed Cydo and held her as tight and as close as possible.

Fuck. We're probably going to be stuck up here until the fireworks end. Who knows how long that could be. Damn it. Think Jack!

I looked over the edge to see that the operator guy was busy watching the fireworks. I reached in my pocket and grabbed my scalpel. I looked back over the edge, still holding on tight to Cydo as she squirmed and whined.

I threw the scalpel and it stabbed straight into the ground between the guy's feet. It served it's purpose and the guy looked up at me.

I motioned for him to let us down and he obliged. Too bad she's too scared to see the fireworks. She would love them.

I pulled Cydo onto my lap and held onto her as tight as I could. We got off the ferris wheel and the guy looked at me and Cydo funny while holding my scalpel.

"Don't ask about this or mention it." I told him as I took my scalpel and shoved it in my pocket.

"Is she ok?" he asked, referring to Cydo.

"Just afraid of thunder. Should've asked if there were going to be fireworks." I said, walking back the way we came.

People looked at us funny as we passed, but I didn't care. I just needed to get Cydo home. If she runs, I might not be able to catch her.

As I crossed into Slender woods, the fireworks immediately stopped. Home. No sounds except for possibly other pastas. Other than that, nothing but the wind in the leaves.

I still held Cydo close. I noticed how light she was. She seemed to weigh about as much as Sally. Yet she was stronger than Seed.

She shuddered as she lay in my arms, clutching my hoody. I hadn't even realized how much pain I was in. I held Cydo with one arm as I removed her claws from deep within my skin.

There was plenty of blood to go with the pain. I'll have to stitch myself up when we get home. And after I put her to bed.

Cydo fell asleep in my arms and I looked at her for a moment before heading home. I don't know if it's been a good night or a bad night so far. I guess it's split.

When I walked in the door, I was greeted by... Wait for it...

No one. Good. Just how I like it. Oh... Wait... Nevermind.

"Hey Jacky! How was your date?" BEN chimed. I refused to let them be satisfied by seeing my anger.

"It wasn't a date dumbass." I deadpanned.

"Ooooh! Jack Got Laid!" Jeff shouted, laughing hysterically. And there's my breaking point.

I walked to Cydo's room, laid her down, and walked back downstairs to Jeff.

"Go ahead. Say it again." I deadpanned.

"Jack Got La-" Jeff started.

I cut him off by grabbing his hoody and landing 'a few' punches into his uglyass face. His face became heavily bloodied and he tried to fight back. But to no prevail.

I pinned him to the floor. I landed punch after punch after punch. I hadn't even noticed the heavy static in my ears until it was too late.

I was pushed off of Jeff as the static blared full force. I clutched my head tight as I yelled out in pain. Black dots danced across my vision and I became dizzy.

When the static died, I found that I was now in Slender's study. Shit. Nothing good will come out of this. Especially after what I just did.

Slender wasn't in here. He was obviously talking with BEN and tending to Jeff. I just sat there, on my knees, on the floor, looking down at nothing, trying to calm down. You can't explain anything if you're too riled up.
