Chapter 23

Cydo's pov

I woke up encased in warmth. I opened my eyes a little to see gray skin. I caught the heavy scent of Jack.

I felt safe in his embrace. Despite all that's happened, I knew that I would always be safe with him. My heart raced at his touch and I hoped that my pounding heart wouldn't wake him.

I was pressed into his bare chest, and remembered that he never put his shirt back on. I rubbed my ankles together and felt my clothing. As expected, nothing happened. I knew he would make sure he never hurt me again.

His arms were wrapped around me, keeping me close. I probably couldn't get away even if I wanted to. Good thing I didn't.

I sighed in content and buried my head deeper into his embrace. I felt his arms tighten around me for a moment. He was awake. He probably knew that I was awake now. He'll kick me out soon.

I don't want to go. I want to stay here with Jack forever.

"I'm sorry." he whispered quietly, his chin on my head. What would he be sorry for? Why is he apologizing?

"I've been such a dick to you. I guess I've never loved someone before." he whispered. Does he think I'm still asleep?

"You're not a dick. You're just different. Jeff's an ass and BEN's a douche. Even Slender is a derp sometimes I'm sure." I whispered to him. He froze for a moment before holding me tight.

"That's when we call him Slenderp." he muttered. I giggled.

"I love you too. And you don't have to be sorry for anything."

"Yes I do. I shouldn't have acted the way I've been."

"Just act like you. I don't care what that is. I don't care. You're still my Alpha. And you're still my Jack."

He sighed in defeat. He couldn't argue with me. I looked up at him, at his empty sockets. But I didn't care, he was still cute in my eyes. I felt his gaze on me.

I closed my eyes and pressed my head into his chest, resting my head on his collarbone. We stayed like that for awhile. Not talking. Not moving. Just laying. Wrapped in each other's warm embrace.

Jack sighed.

"I guess we'd better get up so you can hunt. Or before Slender raids." he huffed. I giggled at his annoyance.

"Ok. Thank you for letting me stay in here with you. I thought something would come for me or something." I murmured.

"Don't worry about it. You are welcome in here anytime. I'll never let anything get you. I'll kill them first. Promise." he told me.

"Ok." I buried my head into his neck.

He sat up and pulled me up with him. He put on his shirt as he stood and I stayed on the bed as he treated his wounds. He pulled his hoody on, then his mask.

"Ready?" he asked me. I nodded.

"Yeah."

"Come on. Hopefully no one knows you were with me all night. It'll definitely cause some problems." he said as he grabbed the doorknob.

"Problems?"

"Just BEN and Jeff. They'll throw jokes about it and shit." he muttered as we headed downstairs.

"You ok? We heard some weird noises from your room last night Jack." BEN chuckled.

"Bullshit. I would've known if there was." Jack deadpanned.

"Maybe it wa-"

"BEN." Slender called, cutting him off.

"Fuck. Now what?" he muttered as he got up and walked to the kitchen.
