"Hi Jinnie hyung." Jungkook said as he walked into Jin's store and headed to the candy section to take a lollipop.

"Hey Kookie, How was school today?" Jin asked as Kookie walked over to him, who was sitting behind the checkout counter.

"It's school, hyung. It was horrible." Jungkook said and Jin chuckled. "Only about 12 more years to go" Jin teased making Jungkook Let out a frustrated groan.

"You're so lucky that you've graduated college, hyung." Jin said as he sat on a stool behind the check out counter next to Jin and took out his homework from his backpack.

It had been three weeks since Jungkook started living with Jin and the two of them were getting along really well.

The bell above the door of the store rang which indicated that someone had walked in. Jin looked up to see who the person was and was surprised when he saw that it wasn't a customer but rather, it was his younger brother.

"N-Nmjoonie..." Jin stuttered. He hadn't expected Namjoon to stop by seeing as it was exam-week in law school for the younger. He was nervous because he hadn't told any of his family members about Jungkook, yet.

"Hyung!" Namjoon exclaimed as he walked behind the checkout counter to give Jin a hug.

Jungkook squeezed himself between Jin and Namjoon causing them to separate before saying "he's not your hyung, he's mine so stop hugging him"

Namjoon looked at the kid before looking back at Jin.

"Who's the minion?" He asked, smiling and Jungkook crossed his arms taking offense to what Namjoon had said.

Jin scratched the back of his head wondering the best way to tell Namjoon about the Jungkook.

"Well, you see..."

"You adopted him?!" Namjoon exclaimed, shocked at the news the older had told him.

"No. I'm his legal guardian, there's a difference." Jin clarified.

"Mom and dad are going to freak out. Hyung, you just got out of college. You haven't even figured yourself out, how can you take care of a kid?" Namjoon asked and Jin sighed.

"They were going to take him to an orphanage." Jin said with a sad expression and Namjoon instantly understood why Jin did what he did.

You see, Namjoon wasn't Jin's biological brother. Namjoon's parents adopted Jin when Jin was twelve. 

When Jin was eight, Namjoon and his family moved to the city. Namjoon ended up attending the same school as Jin and he and Jin became best friends. The younger always noticed how Jin would come to school with some kind of bruise. On some days it was a black eye, other days it was a busted lip, and sometimes it was both.

He found out that Jin was being mistreated at the orphanage. At first, Namjoon's parents weren't financially stable enough to adopt Jin but four years later, Namjoon's dad got a promotion at work which also meant an increase in salary. That was the same day that they adopted Jin and the rest was history.

"Hyung..." Namjoon didn't know what to say

"I couldn't let him get sent to an orphanage, Namjoonie, I couldn't." Jin said, his face showing pure expression of hurt as he remembered what it was like for himself at the orphanage.

Namjoon was about to give Jin a hug but Jungkook beat him to it.

Jungkook wrapped his arms around Jin's waist and turned his head to Namjoon, "look at what you did. You caused my hyung to be sad. Meanie!" He then turned his head to look up at Jin, his arms still around the older's waist. "It's okay, hyung. Don't be sad. If you're sad then I'll be sad"

"I'm not sad, Kookie, see." Jin said and he smiled widely at Jungkook showing him both his top and bottom teeth causing Jungkook to give him an equally wide smile in return.

"I'll help you talk to mom and dad about... Kookie?" Namjoon asked, unsure if that was the kid's name.

"His actual name is Jungkook, but I call him Kookie. And thanks, Namjoonie." Jin said and Namjoon nodded.

"Only Jinnie hyung can call me Kookie, though. You can't." Jungkook said sternly causing Namjoon to chuckle.

"Whatever minion." Namjoon said and Jungkook stuck out his tongue at the older.
