"I will kill him and bury his body where no one shall ever find him!" Jin seethed and Jimin quickly ran over to him to massage his shoulders in an attempt to calm him down. "Hyung, relax. He'll be here soon." Jimin said, not entirely sure how true his words were. It was Jin and Jungkook's wedding day and although their wedding was about to start soon, Yoongi had come in to inform Jin that Jungkook and Hoseok, who was Jungkook's best man, were nowhere to be found.
"They told me they were stuck in traffic. Listen, worst comes to worst, we'll just start a little behind schedule. Don't stress, hyung. It's your wedding day." Yoongi tried to console his best friend. He was sitting on an armchair in Jin's dressing room. He'd been going over his best-man speech for the reception when he'd found out about the potential delay.
"No one is ever not stressed on their wedding day! It's my fucking wedding, Yoongi, I'm about to shit rocks!" Jin exclaimed, his palms were sweaty, his hands were shaking, and he couldn't help himself from pacing. "Why didn't we just elope? I wouldn't be this stressed if we'd just fucking eloped." Jin sank into the chair in front of the vanity. He looked at his reflection that was looking back at him and took a deep breathe in.
"Because your mother would've murdered you for not letting her witness her sons' wedding." Yoongi responded, meeting Jin's eyes through the mirror.
"Well I'm about to murder Jungkook so it seems like someone was bound to die." Jin stated, sighing when he realized that taking deep breaths was doing absolutely nothing for his stress and anxiety levels.
"Why am I getting married?" Jin asked, about to drop his head onto the table before remembering that it took him two hours sitting in that chair getting his makeup done and he'd rather die than ruin it right now.
"Don't tell me you're getting cold feet," Jimin questioned warily. The last thing any of them needed was for Jin to start questioning whether or not this was something he wanted to go through with.
"Never," Jin responded so effortlessly, like he didn't have to think about the response at all. "I just mean I with there was an easier way to tell the love of my life that I wanted to be with him forever. This wedding shit is not for me so let's hope I only ever have to do it once."
"Well, if you and Jungkook don't last then there'd officially be no hope for the rest of us. You two are the closest I've ever seen to storybook true love being replicated." Yoongi assured as even he got up to stand at Jin's side and comfort him.
"They're here!" Namjoon announced as he stepped into the dressing room.
Jin released a deep sigh and felt like ten extra years had been added to his life. "Tell Jungkook I'm going to break his legs for making me worry so much."
"He figured you'd threaten him in some form so he told me to tell you that he isn't worried because you're too old and won't have the energy to do anything to him. But you shouldn't worry because he loves you and all your gray hairs."Namjoon responded, adjusting his tie as he walked up towards Jin but not too close where he could accidentally cause some damage to his brother in some way, shape, or form.
He'd been banned by Hoseok from coming closer than two feet to either of the grooms. Just in case.
"Oh, I'm definitely going to kill him." Jin replied, but there was no bite in his tone.
****
What is that thing where you heart stops beating and your lungs stop inhaling and exhaling oxygen and carbon dioxide, respectively, for an extended period of time? Oh right. Death.
Jungkook is dead.
He is alive but he is dead.
Every organ in his body stopped the moment he saw Jin walking down the aisle with Mr. Kim. Jin looked glorious and Jungkook was positively deceased. He couldn't take his eyes off of his fiancé. He still couldn't believe in a short amount of time, Jin would be his husband. He wondered what tiny island of orphaned children he saved in his past life for him to be this lucky.
He knew exactly what his vows were. He'd written them months in advance, literally the very night Jin had agreed to marry him, he stayed up all night to write his vows.
And then the time came to say them.
He couldn't. Not because he didn't want to, but because he knew that if he opened his mouth to speak, he'd break down in tears. He was really marrying the love of his life.
Jin went first.
"You know, I was going to murder you." Jin started and all of a sudden, Jungkook lost the urge to cry. The entire audience let out varying levels of gasps of shock at Jin's words but Jungkook knowing Jin, was trying hard not to cackle during their wedding.
"I really was. You had the nerve to be late to our wedding. But after seeing your face, I thought I'd have mercy on you. I don't know if it was coincidence or fate that brought us together that day on the bus stop, but I can say that not even today can top that day; the day that you came into my life. I have loved you in many different ways since watching you grow and even as the way my love for you changed over the years, it in no way diminished. I do not make promises I cannot keep, Jeon Jungkook so when I say that I have every intention of loving you till the day I die, believe me because I mean every word. You're it for me, Kookie. I want to spend the rest of my life loving you."
Don't cry.
Don't cry.
Don't cry.
Jungkook chanted to himself as he cleared his throat.
"Jin-ah," he called and chuckled when he received the glare he had anticipated. "I'm not religious. I don't have any belief in any otherworldly power but even I have to admit that something of the sort exists because how else would I have been fortunate enough for an angel like you to have walked into my life the day you did. You saved me, loved me, cherished me. You were the light in my darkest moments and you still are. In addition to being my soulmate, I have to believe that you're my guardian angel. I have loved you for as long as I can remember and I have no intention of ever not loving you, even after death so catch me in our next life still being absolutely, unconditionally in love with you because nothing can put an end to what I feel for you. Not even death. You're my forever, hyung and I'm going to spend as many lifetimes as I'm given, loving you."
They promised to spend the rest of their lives loving each other.
Kim Seokjin never breaks his promises.
Jeon Jungkook is a man of his word.
THE END.
A/N: Alas, we've come to the end of this book. Than you all for coming on this journey with me. I cannot express my gratitude enough for all the love and support this book has received. I am so very grateful to everyone who voted, commented and even to my silent readers as well. Thank you for giving this book a chance.
There will be two epilogues coming soon (Jin will top in one of them) but until then, if you are still somehow interested in my writing and want to read more of my works, I have other Jinkook and Taejin fics.
(Shameless self-promotion till the very end!!!)
Again, thank you all. I love you (a more appropriate thank you note will follow after the epilogues).
