HIS POV
"What did you do to her?" I looked at her, yawning.
"Nothing," I coldly replied.
"Why is she frowning?"
"Why are you asking me that? Go and follow her. Ask her why she's sad. It's none of my fucking business to deal with her facial expressions." James looked at the two of us.
"Stop it, Travis."
"Stop what? I didn't do anything. I'm just here peacefully lying in my bed, and then a goddamn girl just walked in... started shouting... lecturing me like a fucking teacher!" I combed my hair.
I couldn't help but close my eyes out of frustration.
"Because she cares for you," the girl said, pointing at me.
"I don't need anyone's fucking care. I can fucking take care of myself, okay?! So, get out of my room and leave me the fuck alone!"
I closed my eyes and waited for them to leave the room where I was.
I heard the door lock, and that's when I opened my eyes.
"People be faking care like they really consider my feelings. Tss."
Days passed, and I was finally discharged from the hospital.
As usual, James always brought food to me. I always ignored him, but he just wouldn't give up.
"When are you planning to give up?"
"If you think I'll leave you like others did in your life, stop it. We're brothers. It's always bros before anything else."
The wound on my side was slowly healing. It still ached a bit, but I could move around.
I went to the door, supposed to lock it when I heard an annoying voice. I closed my eyes, trying not to get pissed. It's her again, surely she'll pester me again.
"Fuck this life."
"Hey, Travis! Let me in!" I cracked the door open and peeked at her.
"Go away, Emily. I don't need you."
"Trust me, you need me."
"I don't need you."
"Then I'll stay. I'll stay until you need me." I closed the door, but before I could walk away, a loud voice echoed outside my house.
"TRAVIS GOOSEN! IS THIS REALLY HOW YOU TREAT YOUR GIRLFRIEND?!" I looked at the window and saw her causing a scene outside. "LOOK AT ME! YOU WON'T LET ME IN? IS THIS HOW YOU REALLY TREAT ME, HUH?! COME OUT HERE!"
I opened the window and glared at her. She was making a scene outside. I gritted my teeth. I saw my neighbors starting to come out.
"TRAVIS! LET ME IN! I'LL BREAK YOUR DOOR IF YOU DON'T OPEN IT! IF YOU DON'T LET ME IN, I'LL KEEP SCREAMING HERE!" I just closed my eyes in frustration.
"What do you fucking need?!"
"LET ME IN! ARE YOU THIS RUDE TO YOUR GIRLFRIEND? YOU'LL JUST LEAVE ME OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSE?!"
"Hey! What are you doing?! If you two are going to argue, do it inside your house! Don't make a scene outside! You're embarrassing yourselves!" My neighbor shouted.
"If you have a problem, talk it out! Don't disturb your neighbors who are trying to sleep!" I quickly ran outside and pulled her into the house.
"Ouch! You're really hurting me!"
"You obviously made a fucking scene outside my fucking house, Emily! Aren't you ashamed?!"
"That's the point! I sacrificed my dignity just to get in here! You know, you really don't know how to appreciate things. I'm honestly getting pissed off at you." I didn't respond to her and went straight to my room.
