HIS POV ( Play I Wanted You by Ina)
7. Watch the city lights
"7 months." she said, making me furrow my brows. I pulled my hoodie over her and tugged her out. She's cute but too stubborn. I'm really a bit lucky because I can tolerate her in my own ways.
"You know, Travis... this to-do list should be a hundred weird things to do with Emily," she complained, pouting like a child who wasn't bought a toy.
"Well, why don't we make it a hundred?"
She suddenly fell silent. I sighed and held her cheeks in my hands. I know she'll make it. I trust Emily. I've always known her as a strong woman who doesn't give up, no matter how chaotic things get around her.
"We can still do weird things because you still have many days, weeks, months, and years with me... hear me, Emily?" She just smiled at me.
"But what if---"
I really hate it whenever she doubts herself. Does she not trust me? Or is it herself she doesn't trust? I closed my eyes before I cut off what she was about to say.
"No more 'what ifs,' let's make it happen. Trust me the way I trust you."
I put her on my back. This woman loves piggyback rides. I don't know why, it's like a pig, cat, rabbit with rabies. I also don't want her getting tired. I noticed that within ten minutes of walking, she was already out of breath.
"Put me down now, Travis... I can walk, I'm not crippled!" she shouted, but I just shook my head, even though I was really starting to feel the weight.
"Madam, just let me do this, okay? I'm the señorito."
"You're so thin, you might just get a hiccup or something, Goosen," I lowered her and faced her.
"Wow, at least it's not---" She raised an eyebrow. I just facepalmed.
"Fuck! Why am I not allowed to piss you off! Why can't I tease you?!" She just shrugged.
"When boys are wrong, they're wrong. When girls are wrong, girls are still right."
"Whatever."
As we walked, I couldn't help but stop at every street vendor. Every time she saw food, she bought it. I can't stop her. As soon as I try to stop her, she's already bought it. It always ends up in an argument, even though she buys things that aren't good for her.
Sometimes, when she doesn't have any change, she says she'll borrow money from me but never pays it back. When I borrow from her, she acts like I'm a loan shark constantly asking for it back. Girls are so unfair.
"That was so good, Travis!"
"Everything is good for you, Emily."
She looked at me, raising an eyebrow.
"What? I'm just telling the truth."
"Damn, do whatever you want!"
She left me hanging. I quickly followed her to the scramble vendor. I furrowed my brows because she's been eating for a while, and it doesn't seem like she's getting full?
I pinched her cheek, but she got mad.
"Hey! Stop pinching me! Don't I have cheeks?!"
"You have very fluffy and chubby cheeks."
"Is that a compliment?"
"Depends on you, Emily."
We didn't notice it was already 7 PM. I couldn't stop her from eating. Well, who said I'd stop her? If she wants to eat, then I'll just support her and eat with her, of course.
