HIS POV
I woke up with a headache. The moment I tried to stand up, I felt dizzy. I sat back down on my bed with my eyes closed.
"What did I do last night again? Fuck!" It felt like my head was twisting and being squeezed.
"You're awake now?" James asked, holding a bowl of soup.
"Obviously," I rolled my eyes. If I were asleep, my eyes wouldn't be open.
Common sense, people. Common sense.
"Do you remember anything from last night?" I closed my eyes again and tried to recall everything that happened.
"Fuck! My fucking head hurts, argh!" I lay back down and closed my eyes.
"Thank Emily later. She took care of you last night." I quickly opened my eyes and glared at him.
"What?" Damn.
I had a strong feeling I must've said a lot to her last night.
"Yes, bud. She cleaned you up and changed your clothes. She even wiped your vomit."
"What the fucking hell. And now, I owe that woman?"
"I have to go now, I need to pick up Gwyn." he said, playing with the keys of his car.
I tried to stand up again, but ended up sitting back down.
"Goddamn it," I whispered.
"There you go... drinking, but you can't even handle it," I suddenly heard a voice. I looked at the door.
"This isn't from Emily. She said she might be late coming here."
"Why should I care?"
"She doesn't need to update me on her life. I don't care."
I looked at Travily because she had been sluggish and hadn't been eating properly for a few days. I sighed. Looks like my dog is still sick.
"What happened to you?" I opened her doghouse and carried her out. She had lost weight. Damn it.
I put her back in the kennel and took off my clothes. After taking a shower, I stared at myself in the mirror. Thank goodness my vitiligo wasn't obvious. My fair skin saved me.
I put on my hoodie and mask. I carried Travily as I went out of the house. Just as I was about to open the door, it opened on its own.
Emily greeted me with her beautiful smile.
"Are you okay?" The moment she asked that, I suddenly remembered what happened last night.
Damn, this is embarrassing.
"Why are you here?"
"Wow, like you're so surprised... I'm probably just hanging out." I frowned at her appearance. I measured her arms with my hand. She had lost weight too.
"I bought some medicine for you... and I'll cook something to help with your hangover."
"Whatever." I ignored her and kept walking.
I thought she would leave me alone, but I was wrong. She followed me. I raised an eyebrow when I heard her sigh and sigh again.
"She's been out of breath for a while and we haven't even gotten far from the house?" I whispered to myself and then glanced back at her.
"Why are you following me?"
"Because I want to, señorito!" My feet tensed even more when I heard her call me that.
