Chapter 13 - The Fight
Now this was going to get ugly…
Jason and the guy in the red jacket looked at each other for a good minute then out of nowhere the guy’s fist shot up towards Jason’s jaw punching him with all his strength. I saw the deep red liquid splash on the floor. Jason was bleeding. While I was still reacting to the first move the next second all four guys were up and circling me and Jason. Jason wiped the blood from his hard face and held me behind him acting as my personal shield.
“What you gonna do now b****” the guy in the black said.
“Look man I don’t wanna fight, so just back off” Jason said, as I still couldn’t take my eyes of his face which had bits of blood on. That was one heck of a punch. Jason grabbed my hand and turned around, about to go to his car but the guys stood their ground. All eight eyes were on us.
“This is between me and you leave the girl out of it” Jason said his grip tightening on my wrist. Looks were exchanged and within a few seconds I was out of the circle. Jason stared at the two guys in front of him.
“Cr*p … Jason behind you!” I yelled from the top of my lungs. He saw them. Silent as beetles’ two men scuttled towards him. Heavy rain began to fall. I looked around at the sight of three men coming from the distance. Undercover of the heavy rain fall, the pack had stormed in, unseen, blocking all directions. The new men arriving were all armed, they carried knives, clubs and chains. They wore rigid facial expressions, deadly and cold as ice.
“Sh*t… Libby get inside the car!” Jason’s voice was threatening. I obeyed his order and ran to the car but didn’t get inside instead I stood beside it my eyes fixed on Jason. Seven against one. All of them bigger and brawnier than Jason. Jason went for it… he picked a target and threw a vigorous upper cut punch then kicked the guy’s knee with the back of his foot. The guy collapsed to the floor with a loud thud. One guy was down but there were still six left. Two guys came running and tackled Jason. The rain got heavier. They carried knives but Jason was too quick for them. He dodged the piercing knives aimed at them and instead used the knife against one man, lashing him in the stomach. That’s two down. However with the other Jason kicked his ‘private’ sending the guy down to his knees. He then grabbed the back of the guy’s head and smashed it against his knee twice. He was down too. That’s three down.Jason hesitated, I knew. My eyes searched his body until I found a deep knife cut on his thigh. The blood drizzled down his ripped jeans but he didn’t give up. I noticed he was looking for the leader by the way he observed all the men he could see. It’s one of the oldest tricks in the book, you finish the leader the others will scatter. Only problem was… who was the leader? Was there a leader?
Another guy came from mid-air but once again Jason was too fast, he tackled the guy, grabbing him from the waist and kicked him in the stomach, he ripped away the club from the guy’s hand and used it against him, slamming it against his head and back. Another guy came from the corner swinging a chain around his hand. The chain whistled past. Mostly missing his face it gave Jason a light cut on his check. Jason grabbed it and jerked the guy off balance and drove the knife through a gap in the leather jacket, up under the breastbone, near the heart. I froze. Eyes wide. For an instant Jason stood locked, face to face, with the man he'd almost just killed, a heavy red-head with pale skin and vicious, mad dark eyes. I noticed the outrage and disbelief Jason felt but within a seconds… it drained away. His eyes went blank. The almost dead guy thrashed and rolled with the knife and chain and took Jason down. The guy made a right-shovel hook instantly sending Jason into deep agony. He then pulled Jason up by the collar and smashed the club on Jason’s forehead.
“That’s what you get b**tard” the guy shouted in Jason’s face then fell to the floor himself.
Jason was on the floor. Wounded. He was tightly clutching his forehead. I looked around. Six guys were down including Jason but I couldn’t see the other two.
