Chapter 15 - Say Yes!
Jason's P.O.V
I looked at Libby, who apparently had been looking outside for the past two minutes. I was hiding under her bed since she went to have a shower. I slowly came out from under the bed trying to be as quiet as possible. I crept up towards Libby, and stood behind her being as noiseless as a mouse. I looked over her head considering the fact that I am taller, and saw the red roses which wrote ‘Will you go on a date with your secret admirer?’, the entire ground was lit up with colourful string lights showing the question written with the red roses. I had to admit I did a pretty great job with the presentation. It looked amazing from our view, no wonder Libby was speechless. Despite her body being frozen on the spot I could hear her heavy breathing. I gently leaned forward, being inches from her face made my own breathing rise. I whispered her name in her ear making her jump and me chuckle. She swiftly turned around.
“Jason… what the hell. What are you doing here? And how did you come in? Shoot… did anyone see you?” she said quickly looking at the door.
“Calm down. No one saw me now what do say… will you go on a date with your admirer? ” I shot her a smile showing my teeth and looked outside again, she turned around to follow my gaze then looked back at me again. I felt tension build up inside me at the sight of her angry expression.“It was you” she said stunned. I nodded. Before I could say anything the angry expression disappeared and tears ran down her eyes. She’s crying?
“Lobster?” I said. The cries got louder, making me worried about someone hearing. I touched her shoulder. I felt her shiver. She looked up at me, her big eyes full with water. I looked at her confused and more closely. I never noticed how blue her eyes were, they were a sapphire colour with a hint of brown in them. While I was busy observing Libby’s eyes out of nowhere she hugged me with all her strength sending us back. I had to hold onto the bed post to keep us up otherwise we would have been on the floor by now. With one hand holding us up, I wrapped my free arm around her waist making her quiver again.
“Lobster” I whispered. She lifted her head off my chest, showing the wet stain on my T-shirt.
“Sorry” she said innocently. I couldn’t help myself from looking at her. She’s incredible.
“Why you crying?” I asked, still in the same positon. She stepped back, allowing me to stand up straight again.
“No one has ever made such efforts to ask me on a date… Thank you Jason” she wiped her tears away, forcing me to smile.
“You’re welcome” I said holding her face between my hands. At that moment I had a dying desire to kiss her, her lips were inches away from mine but I knew that wouldn’t have been the best thing to do so I controlled myself.“So…. Friday night?” I released her face from my hands. Every muscle in my body was aching to know her answer. She smiled and walked towards the door and opened it.
“Yes. Now go before someone sees you” a huge smile appeared across my face, unable to hold back my excitement I hugged her. The hug lasted for at least one minute until her ‘lovely’ uncle Dave had to call her and ruin the perfect moment. It took her a little convincing to do to get me to go but eventually I agreed. I waved at her and went out the same way I came in. The window. Her face went light pink when I reached the ground (which was a struggle since I had to climb the pipe which by the way isn’t as easy as it looked) and gazed upon her. I felt like I was her Romeo and she was my Juliet. I softly smiled at her innocent, child-like face. Our eye lost in each other. She was so beautiful. Beautiful enough for her beauty to eclipse the sun as does a lamp. Her blue eyes shone so brightly in the night that birds would think the night was over and start singing. She slowly waved and the light closed, leaving me with the dark with my thoughts. I quickly cleared up the roses and lights making sure everything looked untouched then made my way back home. At that moment I realised something. Something that I never expected would happen especially to someone like me…
