Chapter 18 - Truly, Madly, deeply
September flew by and already it was the beginning of October. A few days after our second date Jase invited me over for dinner.
“Hello” I said holding a fresh bunch of lilies, standing on Jason’s white door step.
“Come in” he said opening the door. Instantly a burst of fragrance hit me, the lights were dimmed but many candles were lit. It reminded me of our first date except this time everything was planned. I followed him into the empty house into the kitchen, where on the table were two plates with a lasagne piece and a wine glass beside it. He took the flowers of me; placed them in a fancy black flowery vase and positioned it on the dinner table.“Jase the food was delicious” I said licking my fork once I had finished my food.
“Well I am a pro at cooking” he said winking at me. After the food, we cleaned up and headed to the main room. The couch was slightly moved back and in front of it were a few blankets and cushions neatly arranged on the floor. I took a seat on the floor pulling the covers over me while Jase played the movie.During the movie the dress I wore began to get very maddening.
“Lobster are you okay” Jase asked pausing the movie. I stopped itching my leg and looked up at him.
“Yeah I’m fine, why you asking?” I said as the itching started again.
“There’s literally not one place on your body that you haven’t itched, you keep moving around and I think you’re sweating” he spoke looking anxious.
“It’s my dress. I think I’m allergic to it” the itching was so bad that if I scratched any harder I would end up scraping my skin off. He burst into laughter almost hitting his head on the edge of the couch.
“What?” I cried
“Your…wearing a… a dress that… that your allergic too” he spoke between his laughter.
“Stop laughing it’s not funny” I sobbed. He stood up, held my wrist and took me up-stairs. Once Jase became serious again, he took me to his room and got out a towel and one of his shirts.
“I want that one” I said to him pointing to the plain black and white shirt I admired.
“What difference does it make?”
“It makes a lot of difference for your information” I said taking the things of him and going into the shower. I undressed myself, thanking Jason for getting me out of that stupid dress.
“You sure you don’t want me to join you?” he shouted over the noise of the shower again.
“Goodbye Jase” I yelled while scrubbing my body.Once I was done I pulled on the shirt inhaling the strong smell of Jase’s signature cologne.
“Feeling better?” he asked standing in front of me, eyes wide when I reached the main room. I nodded and smiled. The shirt stopped just above my knees, which was even shorted than my dress.
“Stop looking!” I screeched trying to pull the shirt down but wasn’t getting anywhere.
“Not my fault you look sexy” he smirked. I dodged down before he could reach my lips. He laughed then played the movie again while we adjusted our self. We ended up with me lying on Jase, cradling me in his arms. I listened to his soft heartbeat more than concentrating on the movie.
“Wanna play a game?” I asked when the movie ended.
“What game?” he asked looking down at me. I lifted my head.
“Truth or dare?” he nodded and I smiled. I got up and sat on his lap, facing him with my legs behind me.“I’ll start… let’s see… hmm. What is the most embarrassing moment in your life?” I asked looking at his loose expression. He took his time to respond.
“A … A few years ago when I was driving home from the doctor because I had a rash between my legs. While I was driving there was a girl waiting for a ride. I noticed her but carried on driving. Then I remembered I hadn’t applied the cream I was prescribed. So I stopped the car and put the cream on.” He hesitated as he saw the expression on my face. “Don’t laugh…. While I was putting on the cream. That girl thought I stopped for her so she came running and to her surprise; found someone with their hands in their pants rubbing between his legs. I hadn’t realised she was there until I heard her swear at me and walk off” his checks turned bright pink as I fell into laugher. “Yeah yeah go ahead and laugh” he said sulking.
“Aww my baby” I leaned into him and wrapped my arms around him, pecking him on the lips permitting his smile to appear. “Better?” I asked
“Another might to do the trick” he simpered at me.
“Don’t push your luck” I said pushing his body away from mine.
