Chapter 26 - Columbia, Mo, Part 2
I rubbed my eyes and yarned, taking in my surroundings; we were still on the road but the car was parked, I looked around to find Mr. Peterson not in the car. I was still on Jason's lap while he had his head leaned against the window with his eyes closed.
"Jase" I whispered, instantly his eyes shot open and he looked at me smiling.
"You're awake" he said his voice quiet.
"Where's Mr. Peterson?" I asked sitting up to face him.
"He's gone to get us a room" I shot up to find we were parked in a car park.
"Were here and you didn't tell me?" I asked I little upset that I slept throughout the entire ride.
"I didn't want to wake you. You just looked so cute sleeping" he smiled at me.
"I don't like you" I said angry as he didn't wake me despite knowing I wanted to see the scenery.
"Love you too. Come on" he said taking his seat belt off.
"Where?"
"Inside. Peterson is here, unless you want to stay here" I made a face at him and he laughed setting out the car to grab our luggage. I sorted my hair out, re-applied my favourite coco loco lip-gloss and got out the car.
"Let's go" Mr. Peterson said walking ahead, Jason held my hand and we followed. We walked into the hotel which was very simple and formal. We walked towards the lift with. Mr. Peterson held out a key.
"Don't tell me were sharing" Jason moaned.
"It's all that they had available" Jason rolled his eyes and unexpectedly held his hands out.
"Fine but I'm not sharing a bed with you" I looked at him eyes wide, so did Mr. Peterson "What?" he asked confused, I was still in a slight shock by the fact that Jason was actually being nice.
"Nothing, it's just you didn't argue" Mr. Peterson said taking the words right out of my mouth.
"Yeah well don't get used to it" Jase said walking but stopped. "You two planning on staying there?" I rolled my eyes and walked fast and stood beside Jason with Mr. Peterson not moving from his position.
"Are you not coming?" Jase asked
"I have something to do so I'll catch up with you later"
"Of course you do" Jason said walking away, not looking back. I followed him to our room.
The room we were given was smaller than I expected; two single beds, a double seated couch and a small bathroom. There were many lights around the room as the single window was tiny. I guess this is what we would get if we don't make early reservations. There wasn't much to explore in this room; instead I watched Jason unpack our things as he buzzed around the room. I walked towards the couch to take a seat but was stopped by Jason. "Jase... you okay?" I asked him as he was tightly holding my arm. "I'm feeling dizzy" he said slowly, while panic was already rushing around in my body. I put his arm around my shoulder holding his wrist and put my other hand around his waist, taking up most of his weight on myself. I have to admit though; he felt like a million pounds.
I helped him on the bed and sat him down and went to get the water bottle. "Here drink this" I held the bottle bringing it to his lips. His hand cold. After a few sips he stopped drinking and I placed the bottle on the floor and bent down in front of him so we were face to face."How you feeling" I asked worriedly"Still a little dizzy, my head really hurts" His eyes were closed, I raised my hand placing it on his forehead. "Your temperature is fine" and then it came to mind. "Jase. Is it because of the tumour?" I asked my heart beating like crazy. He looked up at me, his eyes full with sorrow and I got my answer.
