Chapter 12 - Summer Time

The scorching hot sun, illuminated the whole city. We were getting ready for our family feast, Mag invited the Peterson’s (Including Jason) and I invited Kate and Lizzy alongside their family (Josh and Chris were having a guy’s night out). Jason, Kate and Lizzy came earlier to help out whereas the rest came a little later.

I and Mag were busy the whole day; in the morning we had to get up extra early and did the shopping, cleaning and cooking and since Mag loves her presentation we spent hours decorating and cleaning the house. She even made me go out and buy candles.
As the guests arrived I had to be the doorman greeting everyone as they came in. When the Petersons arrived, my face lit up at the sight of Jason millimetres away from me. He smiled a tremendous smile. Once all the other guests arrived; we took our seats on the dinner table. My eyes caught Jason looking at me, I smiled at him and he winked forcing me to look around to make sure no one saw. He laughed showing his two dimples something I recently discovered. Once the feast was over we all spent some time talking then finally at eleven o’clock everyone began to leave.

“Maggie the food was amazing, thank you” Mrs Patterson said hugging Mag and me. Mr Patterson shook Mag’s hand and went for a hug when it came to me but Jason came between us. They fiercely looked at one another resulting in Mr. Patterson taking a step back and instead he just smiled. One by one everyone began to leave.
“Well, erm I guess I’ll see you in the morning then” I said to Jason holding the side of the opened door, letting cold air into the house.
“Before I go…” he said as he ran his fingers though his hair.
“Yeah…?”
“Coffee? Tomorrow?” he held a tight position.
“Sure, but I’m making my own way” a colossal smile shot right across his face the sharp dimples showing and his body relaxing.
“Bye then” he said though not moving an inch
“Okay bye Jason” I said trying to close the door as he was standing in the way. It took almost ten minutes just to get rid of Jason.

The next morning I got dressed in my knee high, V-neck plain green dress and black, velvet, calf, high- heeled boots. I left my hair down and wore a white gemmed hairband. I left the house with Dave (who dropped me off) and reached at Jason’s house at two. I stood in the cold holding my coat tightly until the door opened. Jason opened the door swinging his keys around his finger.
“Ready?” I asked, he nodded. He got on his bike.
“Shall we?” he handed me his helmet.
“Can’t we walk and do I have to wear this? You’re driving so you should” I held out the helmet (I hated wearing it).
“Frist of all if you’re riding with me you don’t have a choice and secondly it’s far. It’s better if we ride there” he started the engine and looked ahead again. I slowly got on, slamming the helmet on my head. I saw him smile then we rode off. Jason stopped at Flavour’s café. We walked inside, instantly the heat came rushing to me immediately warming my body.
“Have a seat, I’ll order” he pulled the chair for me and I took a seat. While he was ordering I took off my coat and patiently waited till he came. I was about to sit down but saw Jason holding a tray with two black mugs.
“You okay?” I looked at him as he froze in his positon.
“Wow, you erm look beautiful” his eyes locked with mine.
“Thank you” I smiled looking at the ground, my hair covering part of my face.
We sat down and soundlessly took small sips of the coffee. As I was drinking my coffee I noticed Jason’s eyes hadn’t moved away from my face, I looked at him a couple of times but his eyes never moved.
“Jason?” I said quietly but he didn’t move, I said his name again this time louder but no reaction. I lightly tugged on his arm which finally made him react. He blinked.
“You okay? You haven’t moved your eyes of me for ages. Is there something on my face” I was about to get my mirror out until he spoke.
“Oh erm no…it’s just… I always hated the colour green but… on you…” he ran his fingers though his hair smiling shyly, I looked away hiding my smile.
“Lobster, I have something for you”
“What is it?” He got up and held his hand out for me. I placed my hand in his, the touch made us both shiver. I grabbed my coat and followed him. He looked at the waiter and she nodded and we went through the staff door.
