"Uh—pupunta muna ako sa library, may kukunin pa akong libro sa Oral Communication in Context." Sabi ko kina Carys at Avianna nang makalabas kami sa cafeteria. "Mauna nalang kayo? Masyado kasing time-consuming kapag magkasama pa tayo kahit ako lang naman ang mayroong sadya. Kita nalang tayo sa classroom?"
Carys only nodded, but when my eyes met Avianna's she smirked at me. "May date ka siguro roon 'no? Well, normal lang naman iyan, Sienna. Always remember to keep protected."
I grimace. She's overreacting, it's not like I'll do something wrong in one of the respected places here in campus. Nakipagtanguan ako sa kanilang dalawa bago tuluyang naglakad sa kabilang direksyon.
Pagpasok ko sa library ay agad kong namataan si Clajj na kasama si Shantal. Maybe this is also the reason why he didn't ate lunch with his friends. He and Shantal are in close distance and he looks like explaining something on her then she's writing it down.
Napansin ko ang bahagyang pagdistansiya ni Clajj kay Shantal nang mapalingon siya sa akin. I just shrugged and gave him a small smile. Wala namang mali sa ginagawa nila dahil sa pagkakaalam ko ay doon rin naman hahantong ang relasyon nila, nililigawan nga ni Clajj si Shantal ayon sa iba.
Nagtungo ako sa bookshelves para hanapin ang Volume Two na libro tungkol sa Oral Communication in Context, iyong libro kasing ginagamit ni Ma'am ay Volume One. Mas maganda kasi kapag may iba ka pang references tungkol sa lesson na tinatalakay.
Nasa ikaapat na layer pa ng bookshelf ang hinahanap ko. I have to tiptoe in order to reach the book and when I successfully get it, I lost my balance. Good thing, someone catch me right my buttocks hit the floor.
"I'm sorry," agaran kong sabi at napaayos ng tayo. Humarap ako sa kaniya at ngayon ko lang natanto na si Hrist pala ang nasa harapan ko "Salamat nga pala sa pagsalo."
"Don't mention it," Hrist calmly said and handed me the book I wanted to borrow.
Para akong napaso at agad na binawi ang kamay ko dahil doon talaga ako napahawak sa parte kung nasaan ang kamay niya. I cleared my throat and took the book quickly.
Pumunta ako sa counter para magfill-up sa Borrow Slip, naramdaman kong may nakatingin sa akin kaya napalingon ako. I saw Clajj looking at me as if guessing my next move. I only shrugged at him and made my way to exit the library.
Tuloy tuloy ang lecture namin sa hapong iyon. My class ended up at six o'clock. Agad na nagpaalam sa akin sina Carys at Avianna dahil may kani-kanila pa silang gagawin.
I waited outside our classroom since Clajj told me earlier that we'll go home together. I waited for ten minutes and another until I realized that waiting for him is time-consuming. Mukhang hindi na ata kami magsasabay.
We'll I'm disappointed since he stood me up. Maybe he had errands to do or he had another class? But he should at least inform me beforehand.
Bumili nalang ako ng kanin at ulam sa karinderya na malapit lang sa campus. Pagkarating ko ng bahay ay kumain agad ako ng hapunan at nag-double check kung nakasara ang lahat ng pinto mula sa labas bago tuluyang umakyat sa taas.
I took a half-bath and after I studied my notes for two hours. I opened one of my social media account to pass some time, and Shantal's story was the first one I saw.
It's a selfie of her, and Clajj is on the back but it's a candid shot of him. Parang nasa classroom sila dahil maraming upuan. Her story was posted an hour ago, my brows furrowed so I checked the time, it's already 9:00 PM. Carys said they're classmates, does the mean, Clajj couldn't come earlier because he had class?
