Chapter 26

"Sorry, hon. Pinaghintay ba kita ng matagal?" Tanong ko kay Clajj. "Cleaners kasi kami ngayong araw."

He's being clingy with me again and maybe because I'm used to this side of him, I really didn't mind.

"How was your day?" He suddenly asked.

"My day was okay and the same.

"Finally, you're here, Nachi!" Ate Mavis said in relief and rushed towards me. "I've been waiting for you! Goodness!"

"Huh? Why? What's wrong?" I asked her worried and silently checked her whole.

My sister pouted and looked at me with pleading eyes. "I've been craving something cheesy! Be it snacks, or anything but a lot of cheese in it!"

"Okay, your request will be fulfilled. I'll just change my clothes then I'll go find your cravings." I softly uttered then hugged her before heading upstairs.

I wore a denim short and oversized brown shirt. In case, may gusto pang ipabili si Ate.

I ride the car and head to the nearest restaurants first yet none of them suit my taste. So I opted to go Dine in Almafitano's and ordered two pizzas with a lot of cheese on it, and fruit teas.

My emotions immediately changed as I thought of Tita Zadie and Zai. Nadaanan ko kanina ang bahay nila at sobrang tahimik no'n. I missed them, and I want to stay there with Ate... but we can't anymore. There's awkwardness between me and Zai, and I think the gap and creak between us won't be fixed.

I don't have the guts to visit them because I'm embarrassed of Zai. It's been a month since I left, and even declined Tita Zadie's offer every time she asked me to come over for dinner, lunch, and other things. I intend to distance myself because I don't want to hurt anyone anymore. But I do hope that Zai doesn't resent me that much.

I used to receive texts from Zai that she would like to apologize and her patience just snap out that time and burst all her frustration on me. I replied with a close ended statement, saying that it's okay for me and I understand where she's coming from as a daughter. Atleast, nagpakatotoo si Zai.

I wonder if she and Tita Zadie are okay now?

"Miss? Here's your order." The woman said and slightly patted my shoulder.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Anyways, thank you!" I smiled at her after composing myself from spacing out.
