Hello everyone! Thank you so much for reading my story! I hope you are enjoying it so far! The picture above is one I drew as a 'spidersona', and I decided to use it for Crystal's costume! Bye for now! Happy reading!

Exhausted, I triumphantly walk into school.

By the time Layla left last night it was 8:30, however, I decided to work on my suit for a few hours afterwards.

I may have been up past 12:30... but it was worth it!

Because I finished my suit.

I can't help but smile as I open my locker, beginning my daily book rotating routine.

I have decided to practice after school lets out, using the excuse that I am going to study at a small cafe near my home.

I close my locker and turn around just as Layla walks up to me.

"Hey, Crystal!" she states cheerily.

"Hi!" I reply, in an equally good mood this morning.

Layla looks surprised, probably because I have been cranky and exhausted for several days recently.

Layla opens her locker and speaks, "I'm glad we got together last night to work on the project."

"Yeah, me too," I lie.

She closes her locker and faces me, "So... I was thinking we could maybe work on it some more tonight! Maybe at my house this time?"

My smile instantly drops, "Uh... sorry, Layla... I'm busy tonight..."

We begin our walk to homeroom, Layla staring at me as she responds, "Oh, okay... that's fine. What are you doing?"

I begin sweating nervously, and my Spidey Sense warns me that I am in trouble.

Well, no duh, Spidey Sense!

"Uh..." I need to think up something quickly. I can't use the same excuse I am going to tell my parents, because Layla will just offer to work on the project at the cafe!

I glance nervously at Layla as we continue walking the corridors to class.

Layla seems to take notice of my nervous appearance, and I immediately look away.

"Um... my parents... are... taking Bethany and me to dinner... with family!" I quickly glance over at Layla. She looks slightly suspicious, but for the most part seems to be buying my story. I quickly continue, "Yeah... we are going to a... family dinner... for... my grandpa's birthday! Yup, a big family dinner!"

Now Layla just looks confused, "I thought your grandpa's birthday was in September..."

Shoot. I shouldn't have added anything to my story.

I laugh nervously, "Did I say grandpa? No, no, no... I meant my great-grandpa! So, yeah..."

Layla opens her mouth to respond, when a bell sounds, startling both of us.

"Guess we better hurry!" I say quickly, desperately trying to change the subject. I begin speed walking.

"Yeah..." Layla mumbles, keeping pace with me.
