As soon as I step off the bus, I dash towards my house. I want to get as much practice in as possible.
I skid to a stop on the front porch, forcing myself to calm down. I don't want to come across as overly excited.
After all, I'm only going to a cafe to study.
I calmly walk through the front door and force myself to not dash to my room.
Once I finally make it to my room, I grab my suit from its hiding spot and begin changing.
Once the suit is on - minus the mask - I slip a hoodie and pants over it, so no one can tell I am wearing the suit. I then stuff my mask and shooters into my backpack, and grab my phone, making sure all the self defense, hand-to-hand combat, and general fighting how-to videos I saved were ready to go.
Then I slip on some shoes, move my backpack onto my shoulders, and tuck my hands into my pockets.
I walk downstairs and find my mom in the living room. "Hey, Mom! I'm going to the cafe to study, okay? I have a lot to do... so I'll probably be gone for a few hours."
"Okay, Crystal. Be careful, and please keep your phone on you," she responds.
I nod eagerly and calmly make my way to the front door.
Once outside, I become the excited mess I had been earlier.
I run as fast as my legs can carry me - junkyard here I come!
