After a completely bland weekend of doing nothing but wishing I could've followed the mystery man, I am almost excited to have some school to occupy my thoughts.

"Hey, Layla," I say casually.

"Crystal! Hi!" Layla responds excitedly.

I smirk at her excitement as I open my locker, "What's got you so excited?"

"Can I come over this afternoon?" she asks, completely ignoring my question.

"Um... why exactly?" I reply, turning to face her.

"I finished it! It took me all weekend, and even late into the night, but I did it! I finished the AI!" Layla squeals.

"Really?!" I exclaim.

"Yes!! Can I come over and install it tonight?! Please?" Layla begs, bouncing on her toes.

"Definitely! And, wow... for pulling a late night, you certainly are energetic!"

"Yeah... I may have taken a few sips of coffee before I came here.." Layla replies sheepishly.

I can't help but laugh, "Really? I never would've guessed!"

Layla laughs with me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Is it ready?" I exclaim, hovering over Layla.
Layla laughs, "Yep! You now have your very own suit AI!"
"So cool!" I reply, reaching for the suit.
"Meet CASSI," Layla states.
"CASSI? What does that stand for?" I question, looking the suit over.
"Crystal's Artificial Super Spectacular Intelligence!" Layla declares proudly.
I raise an eyebrow and smirk at Layla.
She glares at me, "What?! I wanted her to have a cool name, okay!? I had to think of something that would work!"
"Okay, okay," I chuckle.
"Try on the mask! I need to see if she works!" Layla demands.
I grab the mask and slip it over my head.
For a moment, all I see is black.
Suddenly, light enters the suit, and I can finally see. However, instead of just seeing the area around me, a bunch of scanners, charts, and graphs appear.
"No way!" I breathe, barely being able to comprehend what is happening.
"Try saying her name!" Layla says.
"Um... Hi, CASSI?" I speak nervously.
"Hello, Crystal! Are we ready to patrol?" a female robotic voice asks.
My mouth drops open. I recover quickly and respond, "Oh, uh, no, CASSI... we aren't going to patrol right now."
"Understood. Let me know when you require my assistance," CASSI replies.
"Okay, thank you, CASSI!" I respond, before quickly ripping the mask off.
I turn toward Layla, eyes wide, mouth agape.
"THIS IS AMAZING!!" I shout.
"I KNOW!!" Layla screams back.
We hug and begin jumping around, celebrating this incredible masterpiece.
"Girls? What's going on in there?"
We immediately stop jumping.
"Nothing, Mom! We are just excited... about celebrity stuff... you know..." I reply quickly.
"Okay..." Mom replies, followed by the sound of footsteps fading away.
I turn back towards Layla, who is now looking at me with a mixture of pride and disappointment, "Wow, you are getting really good at coming up with excuses."
"Yeah..." I reply sheepishly.
A moment of silence passes...
I look at the mask in my hand, then back at Layla, a grin spreading on my face.
She begins to do the same.
"This is unbelievable! How did you do this?! It's soooo impressive! It seems so much like Spider-Man's suit!!" I begin gushing over this amazing tech.
"I know! I'm so happy about how it turned out! Honestly, I'm not completely sure what I did!" Layla replies enthusiastically.
We both laugh hysterically at the last statement.
I gasp, an idea coming to me all of a sudden, "What if... with your tech and my engineering... we continue to make the suit more professional and even more like Peter's suit! Like, we could add different types of webs, and, and..."
"OH MY GOODNESS YES!!" Layla squeals, "We definitely need to continue upgrading the suit! By the time we are adults, this suit will be so impressive that no one can stop you! The tech will be so impressive that we could start our own Stark Industries!"
We begin frantically writing down all the crazy ideas coming to our heads.
Hope this chapter made you feel as hyped as Crystal and Layla are! I know I certainly began to feel excited writing it! XD
