It is now Monday. I nervously fidget with my backpack strap as I walk through the halls of Riverbend High.
Although I had all day Sunday to figure out my powers and do a bit of research, I'm still having some difficulty believing my discovery.
I open my locker, contemplating whether or not I should tell Layla. I really want to tell her - she is my best friend, after all - but a feeling, which I have identified as my 'Spidey Sense', is telling me not to.
I feel a tingly sensation on the back of my neck, and turn around to find Layla creeping up to me.
She steps back in surprise. "Aw, man... I was really hoping to startle you! Guess I wasn't quiet enough," she chuckles.
I smile sympathetically. I feel kinda bad, knowing that she really was quiet enough, but was tattled on by my Spidey Sense.
She shrugs and opens her locker, "Oh, well."
I nod and turn back to my locker.
"Hey, so, remember how I said we could go see the new Spider-Man movie together? Well, I was wondering if tomorrow evening would work for you?" Layla asks, as she rummages around her locker.
I totally forgot about the movie. However, it could come in handy for research... "Sure, tomorrow evening is perfect!"
Layla smiles at me, "Great! We can get popcorn, and candy, and -"
I smile, listening to Layla's movie night speech, forgetting about my worries for a few minutes.
