School is a little... different, now that I have powers.

During first period, it was difficult to focus on what the teacher was saying, because my enhanced hearing kept getting distracted by the whispers of students and rustling of paper.

Luckily, during second period, I figured out that I can make my hearing focus on specific sounds if I want to. So although I could still hear whispers, pencils scratching on paper, and more, I was able to focus the attention of my enhanced hearing towards the teacher.

On Sunday, after having several snacks in between meals, I realized that I now have a faster metabolism, meaning I need to eat more.

Therefore, I brought a larger portion of food to lunch...

Which, sadly, did not go unnoticed.

"Wow, Crystal! I guess you are really hungry today!" Layla comments, as I take out my lunch.

"Ha ha, yeah..." I reply, feeling kind of awkward.

I brought a sandwich, chips, grapes, an apple, and a small protein shake. I even brought an orange and cheese for later, just in case.

I take a bite of my sandwich, nervously watching as Layla stares thoughtfully into space.

"You know... I was just thinking about the Spider-Man movie, and an idea came to me..." she says slowly.

"Hm?" I respond, taking another bite of my sandwich.

"What if..." she says dramatically.

I raise an eyebrow curiously, taking a sip of my shake.

"Having Spider-Man's powers was possible in real life!" she finishes excitedly.

My eyes widen as I nearly choke on my protein shake.

I set down my cup and manage to make it sound as though I was just clearing my throat.

Layla looks at me, her eyes filled with wonder.

Don't freak out, I tell myself.

I try to look excited, "That... certainly would be crazy..."

"I know right! Just think! We could have our very own Spider-Man! Swinging through the city on his webs! Helping everyone in the real Queens!"

"That... really would be something..." I say thoughtfully.

To be honest, I hadn't really thought about becoming a real life spider-themed vigilante who goes around Queens helping people.

But maybe I should consider it...
