Finally. The first school day of the week is over. My heart is light. No stress about finding smugglers. No sadness or anger of how my dad saw Spider-Girl. I wave to Mr. Williams as I walk through the corridors, giving him a reassuring smile. He smiles gratefully back.

After I gather my things from my locker I am ready to get out of this dreadful place and go on my first patrol that does not involve lying to my family! In my rush to get out of the building, I bump into someone in the hall. "Sorry!" I call out to the boy, who just stares at me as I dart away.

Layla is waiting for me just outside of the school, "You ready?"

"Yup!" I respond with a grin.

"Your 'Gal in the Chair' will be waiting!" she adds with a wink.

"Perfect," I say, waving goodbye as I begin to run in the direction of the nearest alleyway. I shed my outer layer of clothing and hide my backpack, before pulling myself onto a roof. "CASSI, call Layla."

"Calling Layla."

"Hi!" Layla says.

"Hey! Point me in the direction of that robbery," I reply, firing a web at a nearby building.

Layla relays the directions as I leap from the roof. I swing toward the crime scene, ready to help in any way I can.

Yeah, the life of a teenage spider person can be hard...

But I love it anyway.
