Camila and Lauren never spoke to each other again after the day in the parking lot. Their best friends were forced to choose sides. They thought it’d be best if they split up and stick with one of the girls. Normani took Lauren’s side while Ally took Camila’s, once again leaving Dinah in the middle. The Polynesian couldn’t choose so she decided to become neutral, not siding with either one. The down side is that she couldn’t talk to either of the two girls the same way she was able to before the big fight. But the girl’s didn’t really care for the split, each of them talked to one another except two.

Camila decided that it wasn’t fair to keep dating Hailee because she was too heart broken with the green-eyed girl and she knew that she would never be able to love Hailee as much as she loves Lauren. She broke up with the older brunette the day after her fight with the soccer player.

Hailee didn’t take it too well. She went on a rampage around school, flipping desks, destroying properties, and booking freshman in the hallways. She was suspended and was sent to disciplinary school for a while.

Lauren didn’t go back to her brooding bad self. She was back to the old Lauren. She wasn’t as happy as before but she tried to smile each day. Her appearance altered. It wasn’t all color and bright but it wasn’t dark and mysterious. She stopped sleeping around because she didn’t see the point. They weren’t Camila.

It was inevitable for Camila and Lauren not to see each other. They go to the same school and revolve around the same group of friends. But as they drifted more apart, they befriended new people lessening their chances to meet each other. If they ever did cross paths a simple a smile would be thrown their way. They didn’t hate each other, it just pained them too see one another. Lauren loves Camila and Camila loves Lauren. The problem was their history with each other wasn’t exactly the easiest to look past.

And that’s how the rest of their high school career went. Lauren graduated with Normani and Ally then left for college in Princeton. She got a soccer and academic scholarship but declined the soccer one fully focusing on her academics. She chose to major in literature, wanting to study the art of words and planning to become a professor one day.

Normani, on the other hand, was offered a full ride to Pratt. She wanted to study design and become a major designer with her own line of clothing. It was an hour and a half drive to Princeton so she was able to come visit the green-eyed girl and vice versa. So over the years they were still close.

Ally decided to stay in Florida, not too far from home. She took on University of Florida as a nursing major. She wanted to become a pediatrician once she graduates.

Dinah and Camila graduated the year after the three girls. Dinah followed Normani’s route and moved to New York.

However, the brunette wanted to get away. She didn’t want to follow Ally or Dinah or Normani. And it didn’t matter how much she wanted to go to Princeton and be with Lauren, she knew that the green-eyed girl chose that school to get away from all the drama. So Camila decided to go abroad. Her dad had a family friend in England who was a professor at the University of Oxford. She got in and flew overseas to study music and literature.

5 Years Later…

Camila walked in her room for the first time in two years. When she enrolled at Oxford she decided to go home after every term but the last two years she wanted to stay and take in the whole independent living thing. She dropped her bags and looked at her room, everything in the same place where she left it. She walked towards her wall of pictures and reminisced on the old memories. A particular one caught her attention. She took the crumpled Polaroid photo from the wall and examined it so dearly. Dinah had given the photo to her before they graduated. The Polynesian told Camila the story of how Lauren wanted to fix their broken relationship but wrong timing just got in the way. The brunette wanted to reverse time and go back to that moment just so she would never have taken back Hailee then Lauren and her would be together. She still thinks about it. After 5 years, her heart still belonged to the green-eyed girl. She chuckled lightly at the script written belong. Let’s be weird together again?
