Camila practically leaped out of her chair when she saw the doctor approaching her. “How is she doing? She’s okay, right?”

The Doctor smiled warmly as he replied, “Yes, I’m pleased to inform you that your wife’s surgery was a complete success. She should be fine and all ready to go home in an hour or so.”

Camila let out a sigh of relief, “I can go see her, then?” Camila already started to slowly walk past the Doctor.

“Yes, but I should warn you, the anesthesia might still be affecting her heavily as she is probably just now waking up,” the Doctor replied. Camila nodded, not really caring, she had been waiting anxiously for her wife for what felt like centuries. It was by no means a major surgery, Camila didn’t know much about it just that it was some form of hernia and once the surgery was done, Lauren would be all right. Of course, didn’t make her stress level any less, the twenty five year olds were just newlyweds and this was the first time any of them had a medical issue; therefore, it was safe to say Camila had spent the last few hours thinking of all the things that could possibly go wrong. It was incredible that she made it all the way through without a panic attack.

Camila’s face lit up as she walked into the room, her eyes finally catching sight of her wife. She laughed when she saw Lauren uncomfortably shifting around in the bed, not even noticing Camila walk in the room. Lauren finally looked up to see Camila sitting beside her causing great confusion.

“Are you a nurse?” Lauren’s softly inquired, “Cause I kind of want these damn wires off of me.”

Camila giggled and shook her head; she noticed Lauren was staring at her rather strangely, as if she was a little kid fascinated by something foreign to them. She knew that she should have expected Lauren to be loopy because of what the Doctor said but she didn’t think Lauren would basically forget her. She found it funny though cause loopy Lauren was incredibly adorable.

Lauren furrowed her brows and looked away in thought, “Are you-” she coughed as her weak voice cracked, “Are you an angel?” Camila laughed this time, shaking her head again. Lauren turned her head and goofily smiled at her, green eyes admiring Camila’s features as she smugly commented, “You would be one fine angel.”

Camila’s laughter only continued, feeling a small rush of blood to her cheeks; her wife was actually hitting on her, and here she was thinking they had maybe passed that point in their relationship a long time ago.

Lauren nibbled her cracker whilst continuing to stared at Camila, there was a brief moment of silence before she asked, “Who are you, then?”

Camila smile grew, if that were even possible, “I’m Camila, your wife.”

Lauren’s eyes widened in shock, practically bulging out of the sockets, “No way! You’re my wife?” Camila nodded causing Lauren to add with astonishment clear in her voice, emphasizing every word, “Holy shit, you are smoking. What did I do in my past life to get you? Fuck.”

Camila was now full on blushing, sure Lauren compliments her all the time but certainly never like this. Lauren’s seems so genuinely shocked in realizing that she is married to Camila, as if she had just realized she won the lottery.

“Man, you are so beautiful,” Lauren’s eyes traveled along Camila’s body, blatantly checking her out as she softly said while unconsciously doing a half circle with her finger, “Do a spin for me?”

“No!” Camila bashfully replied as she rolled her eyes at the hormonal driven request. Lauren huffed and playfully tried to turn her back to Camila. “Stop moving around so much, baby.“

“We call each other baby?” Lauren thoughtfully said, more to herself, as she turned to face forward, playing again with the wires attached to her.

“Sometimes,” Camila replied, “Here let me pour you some water.”

Camila reached over to grab the water bottle placed on the bedside table and poured it in a plastic cup for Lauren. “Wow,” Lauren said, her new fascination seemed to be Camila’s lips as her eyes were trained on them, “Have we kissed before?”

Camila laughed, nodding her head, “I think we’ve also done a little more than that,” she suggestively added.

Lauren’s eyes widened and her smile grew childishly smug as she exclaimed, Score!”

Camila shook her head at her wife’s antics, “Drink some water,” she said, handing over the plastic cup to Lauren.

Lauren obediently grabbed it and put it to her mouth, still observing Camila as she gulped down the water. When she finished, she began to say exactly what she had been thinking whilst she looking Camila, still not really being able to control anything she said or did, “I don’t think I’m worthy of you. You are far too beautiful, are you sure we’re married?”

Camila giggled then assured Lauren, “Yes, I’m sure, and you’re wrong Laur, you’re the only person I could ever be with.”

Lauren looked like she was about to protest but then the Doctor came in, he stood at the doorway as he said, “How’s everything going?”

“Doc, look at my wife!” Lauren excitedly exclaimed, pointing to Camila.

The Doctor chuckled, “Yes, Lauren, we have met already.”

“I did a good job,” Lauren proudly stated, reaching out her hand to poke Camila face.

Camila playfully slapped her hand away before asking, “How long will she be like this?”

“I’d say for about another 5-10 minutes, I highly recommend she take a small nap, then when she wakes up she’ll be defiantly be good to go,” the Doctor replied, smiling at the interactions between the wives.

Lauren didn’t listen to anything the Doctor said, in fact she now was laying on her side so that she was completely facing Camila; she continued to make googly eyes at Camila until finally the Doctor left and the brown eyes were back to giving her attention. Camila shook her head as she just stared back at Lauren, she was waiting for the girl to say something but she seemed to entranced in staring at Camila to do so. “You heard the Doctor baby, take a nap.”

“You should give me a kiss first,” Lauren bashfully suggested, “Just so, you know, I can sleep better,” Lauren added on as if trying to convince Camila to kiss her.

Camila rolled her eyes, she didn’t need to be given a reason to kiss her wife but found it amusing that her wife thought so. This interaction has been like their first time meeting, and it was quite refreshing see as the actual first time they ever met was seven years ago. Camila was more than flattered that after all this time, Lauren actually felt all of this towards her. Loopy Lauren made her stomach dance and heart flutter, it was like they were two teenagers again.

Camila leaned down and placed a soft peck on her Lauren’s lips, she wanted to make sure Lauren got to nap so she anticipated it to be short and sweet. Lauren obviously had different intentions, cause once Camila pulled her lips away, Lauren pulled her back in and forced her into a passionate kiss while unconsciously letting out a, “Mmm.”

Camila pulled away, laughing at Lauren’s love struck face, Camila’s pink lipstick being smeared all over her lips. “Take a nap, silly.”

Lauren wrapped the blanket around her like a burrito as she laid still on her side, facing Camila, she smiled contently with her eyelids closing, “Goodnight, my beautiful wife.”

“Night,” Camila softly replied, she raised her hand to put it through Lauren’s hair, admiring her wife’s now sleeping features. Lauren may have been the one to express how lucky she thinks she is, but right now, Camila couldn’t help but feel like she was the one that won the jackpot.
