BACKGROUND INFO khioniya was an orphan who was taken in by red room agents when they discovered her in semey, a city in kazakhstan near the border with russia. she was raised in red room academy, where she trained and learned the ways of an assassin. among the students, she was considered to be the most obedient and therefore most favored by the teachers.
when alek plisetsky first started attending the school, he developed an insane crush on khioniya. the feeling was mutual, and the two became each other's first official lovers while they were 12, though in secret, since he knew his mother wouldn't have approved of him having a relationship at that age. however, as alek entered his teenage years, he realized he was beginning to become more attracted to mathias altin. this led to his breakup with khioniya, much to her misery. eventually she learned to move on, and started dating several guys like any pretty teenage girl would.
after finishing her training, she proceeded to work for the svr along with lukyan. through an investigation, khioniya soon discovered about her biological family, and learned that her ukrainian mother, larisa petrenko, had died after being raped and murdered by british assassins. meanwhile, her kazakh father, rinat ospanov, was imprisoned for having committed several crimes like drug dealing & child abduction (he'd gone insane stealing children, thinking they might be his lost child). khioniya visited her father and helped him break out of prison, only to assassinate him and shred his whole body with a shredding machine. she'd done it out of loathing for him, knowing he'd forced her mother to marry him since he had an obsessive infatuation for her. it wasn't only that, but rinat had also abused and raped larisa each time she displeased him, and never bothered to protect her when she was attacked by the british assassins.
