— Everyone who knew Elizabeth described her to be a brave yet headstrong individual. She was tough and resilient, standing strong whenever she was mistreated, be it man or woman. Other people got sometimes intimidated by her stern demeanour and sarcastic streak, until they later witnessed her great sense of humour when outside of work. Though she believed in morality, she was willing to lie if the situation called for it, and was proven to quite cunning. However, she was not as perfect as everyone always perceived her to be; although she was at first very loyal to her husband, she chose to abandon him without even first confronting him. It wasn't that she feared him (in fact she feared no one), she simply couldn't bear to see his reaction if she'd told him upfront of her sentiments. Some friends of hers implied that she was the only person who could change Arnold's views - sadly, she never made a second attempt due to self-doubt and lack of courage, which others found very unlikely of her (she had tried persuading him once, but failed). She might not have stayed faithful to her husband, but she still never stopped prioritising her children over anyone or anything else.
