THE HOUSE OF KARENIN were a noble family that lived in Imperial Russia. They were noted to be one of the wealthiest families throughout Europe and were remarkably intimate with the Romanovs. Descendants of the Karenin family still live up to this day, but like everyone else after the Soviet era, they were obligated to work in order to regain their former glory. The advent of their wealth goes way back in the medieval period, making them one of the oldest noble families in Russia. They were also renowned for their involvement in politics, their immense wealth, and their art collections in the 17th—19th century.
