This chapter is unintentionally super duper long, my other chapters aren't as long as this, promise :).

July.

I couldn't breathe.

How could this be happening to me?
I followed the tall, brown haired woman; I'd forgotten her name the second she'd told me, down the brightly lit corridor, all I could smell was disinfectant. Everything even looked sterile.

The floors were grey and shiny underfoot, the walls were bright white, not a scuff anywhere in sight, even brown haired lady looked sterilised, made worse by the fact that she put latex gloves on as she started to slow down when we came to a set of metal double doors, two little circle windows in either one.

"I'm sorry about this Lillian." She said with a sad look on her face as she turned to look at me.
I just nodded, I had no idea what to say, would I have been able to say anything anyway?

She pushed the right door open and walked through, holding it open for me to follow her.
I hesitated; I really didn't want to do this.

I took a deep, very shaky breath, closed my eyes for a second and took a few steps forward into the room.

Brown haired woman let the door swing shut behind me, it didn't make a sound.

Nothing was making a sound down here. It was too quiet.

The woman walked further forward into the room, towards one of the two white sheets.

"Lily, I know this will be hard, but I need you to come and look." Her voice was soft and sympathetic.

I walked forward, not feeling anything anymore. I'd gone numb. I couldn't feel my feet hitting the floor as I moved forward; I couldn't feel my breath moving in and out of my body anymore.
It felt so weird; I wonder if this is how they felt now?

She pulled the white fabric back, I nodded.

She moved to the second white sheet and did the same thing. I nodded again.

Yes, that was in fact my mom and dad.

Their bodies anyway.

I woke up screaming and breathing hard.

I moved my face into my pillow and tried to calm my breathing quickly.

A wet muzzle pushed itself into my hand that was hanging off the side of my bed, a tongue licked my palm.

"I'm okay girl." I said to Sky, my beautiful Husky cross German Shepard.

She whined, not believing me and jumped up onto the bed with me, pushing her nose against my neck.

"I know little one." I called her little one a lot, despite the fact that she was currently taking up more of the bed than myself.

She was as big as a wolf, and looked like one too, with her long grey fur and bright blue eyes.

It was the second time that month I'd had that dream. It wasn't a dream though, it was a memory, a very vivid memory.

Nobody would come in and check on me, my housemates were used to this, after living with them for over three years, they had just come to expect it.

I lived with three wonderful people in a small town in Alaska, Tom Grey, he was a total sweetheart, he'd do anything for any of us, and never failed to make me laugh, make me feel safe and whole
