Getting ready was hard without Jade's help. It was also hard knowing what to wear and how to do my make-up.
I didn't want to over do it, we were just going to the local bar, the only bar in town, it was a run down log building, it was in no way fancy, but I wanted to look nice.
I sighed as I finished putting mascara on, I chose to just apply a little eyeliner and foundation and left it at that.
I decided to wear fake leather leggings, a white bandeau and my fake leather jacket.
I shoved my black and white converse on and checked the mirror, it was nothing fancy but I definitely looked like I'd made an effort.
I bounced downstairs and Tom was sat on the sofa with Sky flipping through channels on TV.
"Shit. Why do you always look so good?" He asked, switching the TV off and standing to move round the couch, he stood in front of me and pulled me closer to him with my jacket.
He looked incredible, he was wearing ripped, black skinny jeans, a white t-shirt and a baggy flannel over the top, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
I blushed and tried to look away from him, but he put his hand under my chin to make me look into his eyes.
"Can we just go." I begged, I was uncomfortable with Tom complimenting me.
He laughed a little, quickly kissed me and pulled me from the house.
The bar was already busy, it smelled like it always did, smoke and stale beer. All the tables were already taken, I nodded towards the bar when Tom looked down at me.
He sat down on a stool, there was a spare stool next to him, but I chose instead to stand between his legs, earning me a huge smile from him.
"What do you want to drink?" He asked into my ear, Tony's band wasn't playing yet but it was still loud.
There was little to no entertainment in Eastrose so when Tony's band played, especially on a Friday night, it was considered an event, and most people made an appearance."Soda." I stated, I didn't need to drink tonight, I was too happy with Tom to need to drink.
I leant back against Tom's chest, he wrapped his right arm around my waist.Tony's band were good, better than the last time I'd seen them. They didn't really have a defining genre, but if I was forced to come up with one, it would be alternative rock.
"You're vibrating." Tom spoke into my ear so I could hear him.
I turned to face him, a confused look on my face.
He laughed and pointed to my jacket pocket, I put my hand against it, my phone was ringing.
I laughed at myself and grabbed my phone, I swiped the screen but couldn't hear anything.
I passed Tom my drink and held a finger up and started to walk to the back door of the bar, it got quieter as I got closer, once I opened the door and let it swing shut behind me could finally hear, but it wasn't a voice I could hear on the other end, it was a static sound.
I moved the phone away from my ear to check the caller ID, it was an area code from my old city.
I didn't know anyone who would be calling me from there, and especially nobody that would have my number still, I'd changed it since living there.
I put the phone back to my ear but it was still just static.
"Hello?" Still nothing.
I sighed and hung up.
