After a few minutes I pushed back and realised why I'd been up there to begin with.

"Are we going to have Todd at the door?" I asked, pulling his arm from around me so I could look at his hand again.

His knuckles were cut and already bruising.

Tom signed, "No, Shane wouldn't go to the cops." He looked ashamed of himself now, his anger wearing away and he was regretting his short fuse.

I grabbed his chin, making him look down into my eyes, "Don't do this again." I said fiercely.

His eyes softened and he sighed again, "I know, I won't. I'm sorry, he just, the thought of people thinking I was hitting you, I just lost it." He shook his head after I'd dropped my hand to rest on his chest, slightly damp from my tears.

I knew it was probably the stress of his dad calling too, he was wound tight and while last night had seemed to calm us both, help us, he was still thinking about this dad's phone call. I could tell it wasn't just what Shane had said to him.

I didn't want to push the issue, but it seemed like he needed to see his dad, have that closure.

"I'll be down in a minute." He sighed again before kissing my forehead and pulling back, moving back over to the sink.

I wanted to stay in there with him, make him talk until he smiled again, until he agreed to go see his father and make him happy again.

Again, I was struck with the same feeling as I had when we were in here after his father called, he must have felt like this every time he left my room after I'd refused to move or talk to him.

I kept my sigh in so he wouldn't hear and left the bathroom like he needed me to.

I could hear Drew trying to get Sky to do something and he was clearly failing.

I walked in to find Drew holding out a chair from the table and trying to get Sky to sit on it.

I tilted my head just like Sky was, "What are you doing there buddy?" I asked him, trying not to laugh.

He jumped a little, having not noticed me in the kitchen doorway. "I just think it would be cute for her to sit at the table." He said, also trying not to laugh at himself.

I couldn't stop my laugh then. "For what purpose?" I giggled.

"The purpose of, she'll look cute sat at the table like she's a little person." He laughed with me then.

"You're so weird." I shook my head at him but moved into the kitchen, I clicked fingers quietly to get Sky's attention, once I had it I lifted my hand palm up so she'd stand, I pointed at the chair Drew had been trying to get her to sit in, and clicked my fingers again.

She jumped up straight away, taking a few seconds to fit her giant frame onto the smaller surface.

She looked up at Drew, her mouth open in what looked like a smile, her tongue not quite out yet.
He'd been right, she did look cute, but then she always did to me.

I giggled again as Andrew couldn't stop laughing at her, he took a few photos and then said, "Ok thanks, this has made my day so much better." I shook my head at him and kissed Sky on the head, she knew she could get down any time she wanted and didn't have to stay up there.

I grabbed four bowls down from the cupboard, two out of the four were chipped and none matched.

Just as I was about to take them into the lounge, Jade walked in the kitchen door. "It smells super cheesy in here."
