Her eyes widen.
"I- I'm sorry. I don't know what you're talking about here."
"I know you have cancer. I know it's from the liver and it's too big for operation. I know you have roughly 3 years left and that you're too afraid to tell Tae."
Her eyes begin to water.
"You don't know what you're talking about."
"But I do. And that's why you want to avoid it."
She lets out a sigh.

"How long were you planing to keep it from him?"
"Till I died."
Jimin eyes widen.
"You never planned to tell him?"
"No, honestly I don't want him to hate me for leaving him."
She looks down
"I think he'd resent me."
"But he wouldn't. It's Tae. You're his mother. There's no way he would hate you. He might be upset that you're going through this, but I think he'd be mad at himself if he found out you went though this alone."
Jimin places his hand on top of hers and grips tightly.

"We can't tell Tae, please."
"I—."
Jimin bits his lip. He doesn't want to keep this a secret from Tae anymore. Before he could saying anything else, the door opens.
"Can't tell me what?"
Tae walks in. His mother and Jimin's eyes grow wide. Jimin clears his throat.
"That I'm taking two of your baby photos."
Jimin picks up another.
"I thought you looked great in all of them but your mom said I could keep one more."
Jimin eyes Tae's mom, she had a blank stare.
"Right ma'am?"
She blinks twice.
"Huh? Oh, yes. Jimin is so adorable so I let him keep both."
She smiles at Tae.

Tae box smiles and puts the things away.
"We should get going now mom."
"Oh, ok boys. Make sure to get home safe."
Jimin and Tae collect their things and Tae's mom walks them to the door.
"Thanks mom. I'll visit you soon."
She grins and Tae gives her a tight hug.
"I'll wait in the car."
Tae whispers to Jimin and pecks his head.
Jimin steps up to Tae's mom.

"Jimin.."
"If you're going to ask me to keep your sickness a secret from Tae I'm afraid I won't be able to. As much respect I have for you, I can't."
She takes a deep breath.
"Don't you think he'll hate you for keeping it a secret from him? There's a reason why you didn't tell him as soon as you found out."
Jimin hesitates to answer.
"Because I wanted to give you a chance to come clean. I'd rather him hear it from you. But if you can't do it, I won't stop. And if he hate me so be it. At least he knows the truth."
They stand in silence.
"I'm sorry for saying that Jimin. It's just.. I'm scared. I don't want to leave him yet."
"Mrs. Kim. Tae and I have 3 more days til we return to the states. Please tell him."
Jimin and Mrs. Kim jump when they hear the sound of a car horn.
"I'll get going now Mrs. Kim. Take care."
Jimin bows and leaves.

He walks to the car.
"What's with the face?"
Tae looks at his pouty boyfriend.
"Nothing, just upset we have to leave."
Jimin looks up at Tae.
Tae plants a kiss on Jimins forehead.
They get in the car and leave.

Tae and Jimin went on a bunch of little dates in those 3 days. Tonight they are suppose to leave to the states.
"Hey, can we visit your mom before we go?"
"Yea."
The boys head out for the day. Do some last minute shopping. Their flight leaves in 5 hours. They decide to visit Tae's mom now, stay an hour, then head to the airport two hours early.

"Mom! We're here!"
Tae says as he walks in the house.
"Mom?"
Tae looks around for his mom.
Jimin follows right behind him.
"Mom. Where are you?"
Tae's voice grows worried.
Tae walks into the kitchen while Jimin walks into the bedroom.
"Mrs. Kim!"
Jimin rushes to the floor to find a response-less mom. Jimin shakes her in hopes of a repsonse, but she doesn't react.
"Tae!"
Jimin yells.
Tae comes rushing into the room.
"Mom!"
Tae joins Jimin and tries to move his mother.
Jimin pulls out his phone and calls the police.
"Mom! Please, wake up. Mom!"

The ambulance comes rushing to the house. The paramedics come in and take Mrs. Kim. They start by asking her questions.
"Miss, what is your name?"
The paramedics, Mrs. Kim, and Tae gets into the ambulance. Jimin sees there's no room.
"I'll take the car."
Tae nods and the paramedics close the door.
Jimin watches the ambulance pull away.
He clutches his fists.
"Please be alive."
Jimin gets into the car and drives to the hospital.

"I'm here to see Mrs. Kim. Kim Jojo."
Jimin says out of breath.
"Room 203."
Jimin runs as fast as he can and almost slides past the room. He goes into the room to find Mrs. Kim awake and a few doctors and his boyfriend. Jimin tries to compose himself before walking in any farther. He walks in and his boyfriend hugs him.
Jimin turns to the doctors.
"Is she alright?"
"She had quite a of a fall. Thankfully, nothing was severely damaged. But I think it's best if she takes it easy."
The doctors give her some medicine for the pain and walk out.

"Mom. Why didn't you eat?"
"I'm sorry. I got caught up in making sure the house was nice when you come to visit that I got caught up in the cleaning."
Jimin sits there watching the two have a conversation. Unsure of what to do he just continues to listen to the conversation.

"Mom I'm going to talk to the doctors. Jimin.."
Jimin looks up at Tae.
"Can you watch my mother real quick?"
"Yes, of course."
Tae slips out the room and closes the door.
This tense silence is building up in the room.
"Mrs. Kim.."
Jimin gets closer to her.
"Jimin.. I know what you're going to say. But I'm not going to tell Tae."
Jimin is shocked by her response.
"What? Are you serious?"
"Jimin. Look, I'm not going to tell Tae. For my own reasons, if you want to go ahead, I won't stop you. But he's not going to hear it from me."
Jimin goes angry by the fact that Mrs. Kim has no ingestion on telling Tae her sickness.

"Mrs. Kim! You have no idea how selfish that is! You are really going to die and not tell your son because you're too stubborn with your own feelings."
Mrs. Kim stays silent.
Tae walks back inside.
"Tae, there's something I have to do. I'm sorry I'll be back."
Jimin storms out the room without another word. Tae wants to follow him, but first he has to say bye to his mother.
"Mom. Here are the pills the doctor said you should take. You take one after breakfast and one before going to bed. Make sure you eat ok. No more skipping meals."
Tae places it down on the table.
"Thank you."
"Get some rest mom."
Tae walks over and places a kiss on her forehead then leaves.
