Jimin slowly wakes up as the sun hits his face. He feels a bit hot and looks over to see Tae sleeping peacefully right next to him with Taes hand over his waist. Jimin blinks a few times, unsure if he should get up or not. He slowly slips out of Tae's arm and leaves the room.
-
Tae moves over to hold Jimin closer, only to feel an empty bed. Tae pats the bed a few times to confirm his suspicion and then shoots up with his eyes wide open.
He's alone. Utterly alone.
Tae pouts. A bit sad that Jimin would leave and not say anything. Tae sighs and gets up. He walks out of the room and heads to the bathroom.
-
Tae walks out and makes his way to the kitchen, his towel blocking his view since he is drying off his hair.
Jimin turns around to revel plates of food when he realizes Tae is shirtless. The only piece of clothing Tae has is a towel loosely tied around his small waist. Tan fully visible on his abs as water drips down his body.
Jimin has some unholy thoughts and clears his throat. Tae looks up.
"Jimin!"
Tae happily comments and Tae walks over to hug him. Jimin puts out one hand as the other is buried into his face.
"I think you should change first."
Tae looks down, and smiles.
"You like what you see?"
Tae says with a cocky attitude
"What?! No, don't be ridicules."
Jimin turns a light shade of red.
"Oh.. you don't.."
Tae looks sad.
Jimin looks up.
"What.. wait! I think you look great! It's just really hard for me to admit it because I like you."
Jimin looks down immediately.
Tae laughs a bit because he was joking with Jimin, but then he finally process what Jimin said.
"WaiT.. you liKE ME?"
Tae yells.
Jimin blinks. He looks right at Tae.
"Yes."
Tae's heart starts to race.
"Say sike right now."
Jimin laughs at his reaction.
"How much do you like me?"
Tae leans in.
Jimins face turns red again.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm asking you if you like me enough to date me."
Tae says with a serious tone.
There's a moment of silence.
"How about you get changed first and then I'll answer all your questions."
Jimin turns Tae around and pushes him toward the hallway.
"Promise?"
Tae stuck out his pinky.
Jimin slightly smiled.
"Promise."
He intertwined his pinky with Tae then Tae sprinted to the bathroom to finish getting ready.
-
The boys sit at a table. They are looking directly at each other, waiting to see if the other says something first. Jimin can't believe he got himself into this mess. This wasn't the plan he had in mind when he told Tae that he wanted him to be his boyfriend.
"Jimin you promised you were going to tell me now hurry up and tell me!"
Tae pouts while pointing at him.
Jimin chuckles out of pure embarrassment.
"Ok ok, fine."
They don't say another word.
Tae's eyes light up as he waits for Jimin to say the words he's so desperately been wanting to hear. Jimin looks down at his hands, trying to gather his thoughts and his courage.
Jimin looks up.
"I want our happy ending."
Tae raises an eyebrow.
"Huh?"
"Our happy ending. I want it."
Jimin says with confidence.
"Uhh, I'm lost."
Tae tilts his head.
"I want you, this, us. For what it's worth for what it is. Reading books with you in the library made me realize I want a happy ending with you and only you."
Jimin gulps.
"Look, I'm not good with words, but I'm very stubborn. And, and it's not fair!"
Jimin looks down.
"Jimin.. I'm still not following.."
Tae looks confused.
Jimin facepalms himself and scratches his head with both of his hands furiously. He slams his hands in the table and gets up.
"Damn it Tae! I love you! I missed you so much when you left and I shut down! And it was because I was so use to you being by my side that I forgot how to survive without you. And I'm building up the courage to love you again but you're making this difficult! Just say you love me too and kiss me already."
Jimin looked at Tae who just stared back and blinked.
"Wait.. you love me?"
Tae said shocked.
Jimin looked at Tae with the most disappointing stare.
"Are you kidding me?"
Jimin scoffs.
Tae gets up and walks over to Jimin.
Jimin stares at him.
"Do you really love me?"
Tae asks for reassurance.
Jimin just thinks Tae is toying with him so he sighs.
"Tae. I'm being completely honest and you aren't taken me seriously.. I'll just go."
Jimin runs and begins to walk away.
Tae quickly wraps his arms around Jimin and places his head in the crook of his neck.
"Don't leave. I'm sorry. It's just, losing you once was hard enough. And it's the idea that you could have moved on scares me."
Tae hugs him tighter.
"It's not like I don't love you, it's that I love you too much that it's scary. So when you left and I couldn't tell you how my day was or I didn't know if you had dinner or if you caught a cold or if you moved on or if you no longer cared for me.."
Tae's eyes began to water.
"The last time I felt alive, I was looking into your eyes. Breathing your air, touching your skin. Saying goodbye. The last time I felt alive... I was dying."
Jimin grabs Tae's arm.
"Tae.."
Jimin missed Tae, and hearing him talk like that made Jimin want to turn around and hug him so tightly he could die.
Jimin turned around and wipes Tae's tears. Jimin then buried his whole body into Tae causing both of them to fall on the couch.
"I didn't know how bad it was for you."
Jimin mumbled into Tae's chest.
"I didn't know how bad it was for you either."
Tae slowly strokes Jimins hair.
"It hit me when Dean asked me if I missed it. And I paused for a second and asked 'miss what?' And Dean looked and me and said 'the first thing that popped into your head when I asked the question.' I kinda just stopped and stared because the first and only thing that came into my mind was you. And for some reason that hurt me a lot more."
They embrace each other. Holding on tighter to one another as if they will disappear.
"There are so many things I wanna ask you, things I want to tell you. But right now, being in your arms, surrounding myself in your warmth, hearing your heartbeat.. I realize that none of that matters. Right now, as we speak, our heartbeats are making the same rhythm."
Jimin smiles as he finally comes to terms that he really is madly in love with Tae.
Tae shoots up.
"I'm tired of going back and forth, I want you to be with me."
Tae pouts, being as blunt as possible.
He sits with his legs crossed, so Jimin does the same.
Jimin eye smiles.
Jimin raises his hand slowly and pats Tae's head.
"Ok."
Jimin softly whispers.
"Ok as in you'll date me?"
Tae gets closer to Jimins face.
Jimin turns pink.
"Yes."
Jimin says quietly.
Tae smiles widely and rams into Jimin, both of them falling back into the couch once more.
They laugh and giggle.
-
"Hey, Tae."
Jimin is now stoking Tae's hair who is laying on Jimins chest.
"Hm."
"Let's always come to each other from now on ok? Always come to me first when things are bothering you and don't feel like you're being a burden for sharing your struggles."
Tae looks up at Jimin.
"Alright. I'll come to you when I need you and I'll be your rock when you need me."
They both smile at each other.
Jimin puts out his pinky finger.
"Promise?"
Tae smiles and intertwines their pinkies.
"Promise."
